Checked my email tonight - already got a Cornell interview! i was so psyched - i needed a success.

BTW - I submitted my app over the weekend, and it was due only on tues. In other words, i got the the invite 4 days after i submitted and 3 days after the due date. is that fast? Am I super-cool?

I would like it if you all told me I was indeed super-cool. I could use the stroking.

How's that possible, were they able to review your application so fast or you had already visited there before so they were just waiting for your application?

well, i live here in ithaca. i visited last march, but only did a quick class visit and a student-led tour; i had my charming-midwest-girl face on, but i had little interaction with anyone, so i doubt that mattered. But they know my organization, know my CEO (who was reco), and my stats are good. (Not incredible off the charts, but good.) Oh, and i met with someone from the sustainable enterprise center, who was impressed with my work (she is researching organizations like mine). she said she'd put in a word, so that might have helped as well.

I dunno. but I am quite :-D about it.

(I am less happy that now that my apps are in my partner has taken his laptop back and left me with my total piece of crapp-o. the keys don't work half the time. i, shift, and ctrl are all on a semi-strike. but i refuse to buy a new one now if the school is gonna make me fork out $3k for a new one in the fall.)

Wow, that is fast. They must have been waiting for you application to come in so they could invite you for an interview. Were all parts of your application in (recs, transcripts, etc.) at the same time?

Kind of reminds me of when I applied to Yale law school. I sent in all my apps (by mail) and thought I'd be waiting a few months before I heard anything. My rejection came back so fast they must have asked the postal carrier to hang out for a second after delivering my application so he could take the rejection letter back on the same trip.

um, the recos came in around Dec 28. The rest was all at the same time - on sunday.

I just checked my status from web page and I have been asked to contact Rachel to fix up my interview (email must have gone to my bulk folder)

COOL : first interview.

I am meeting Cornell officials in LA on 16th evening. But does Cornell do on campus interviews by admission officials or off campus by alumni?

I did submit Cornell in early december instead of waiting till 9th Jan, since I wanted to spend more time on Columbia 4 and MIT's 6 essays (if you count cover letter and Innovation Essay 5).

NYU should announce their decision soon (I barlely made first round deadline of Dec 1st, in the creative essay I wanted to sketch some thing myself and scan it)

Thanks to everybody, but I still didn't get the answer to my question, is off campus interview from Cornell a possibility (say at LA or Dallas) ir I have to go to Ithaca (I have been there once, it is gorges :))

you can interview off campus, though an in person visit will likely be beneficial to your candidacy.
