Corporate Finance vs. Marketing for Career Switchers

Hi everyone,
I wondered what everyone's thoughts on the relative difficulty for those wishing to switch into corporate finance or marketing (as in brand marketing..not something like market research) at F500 companies.
I've been checking out the career pages on maybe 25 F500 companies based in the Midwest and virtually everyone lists "3-5 years experience in [marketing][finance]" as a requirement for the job. So, no career switchers here?...or is this really just a wish list and not actually a requirement (despite the fact that it says requirement or qualification)?
Short Background on me:
-Several years as a corporate lawyer at large law firms (not finance, not marketing)
-two years running my own company at matriculation (run all internal finance and marketing matters..but not a traditional finance or marketing job of course).
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks very much in advance.
