This is to help me make my decision of where to matriculate so input would be much appreciated.
If we disregard 'oppourtunity' as a factor...
If someone went to an UE or E school, and got a job in say, Hong Kong, Singapore or Japan, would their salary be any different from someone who went to the best school in Hong Kong, Singapore or Japan if they were hired in the same position and the same company?
The reason i ask is considering that on average ~5% of grads from UE or E schools go to with salaries between $50k-$120k, and schools such as HKUST who predominantly place people in Asia averaging salaries in the middle of the 50-120k range there doesn't seem to be a cost benefit.
In terms of opportunities, HKUST also have the financial powerhouses on site due to its reputation in finance (although i'm not interested in this aspect) and some of the major consultancies (McKinsey, Booze Allen) have recruited last years graduates as well.
So I'm beginning to think whether opportunity cost is worth it if the end result is similar if i was accepted into a E or UE school.
