OA is A, but i have no idea why.

Well, there i go again.. i did think about A being the answer but ruled it out because A says that the zoo employees switch occupations AFTER being infected. Well if they are already infected what's the point of changing occupations.. the strike rate still remains..

However leaving that 'subtle' point alone for a moment, A basically strengthens the argument because the author believes that while the zoo employee has a choice of switching occupations, the general public have no such choice [presumably because the said allergy must be coming from a pet which is not so easily disposable] and hence the allergies will be more widespread in general public with similar exposure to infected animals.

but the number of people in the general popul. being affected wudnt change rite. The conclusion tht can be drawn frm A is tht the genral pop. wud be spending more time with their allergy inducing pets than the zookeeprs who switch jobs.

I think the answer is A. The logic is this - if A is true, substantially more than 30% of zoo employees have allergies based on their close contact with animals, however only 30% are left to be counted because many leave the zoo once they develop allergies.

So, if the general population develops allergies at the same rate (substantially higher than 30%), then their rate will be higher because there is no way for them to 'leave the general population' like someone working at a zoo could leave there.

Clear winner A.

Only A gives us a reason to believe that the normal population will have more percentage of animal induced allergies.

Used the exact same line of reasoning.

(A)
