Answer E

I - True person would say -yes
Untrue person would say - no
and from the face you will make out who is this person is!!

II - True Person would say - yes
Untrue Person would say - Yes

III - True Person would say - ??????

Could not explin my thoughts on the third one.

Answer is B.

The third statement is sufficient. By asking him if if he woud say 'yes', you force him to negate a lie, hence getting the truth.

III is there in 4 of the 5 choices. Will just go ahead for III - that's B. <30 sec gues.

I think it is A.

The first clan speaks the truth and the second clan speaks opposite of the truth.
It means that

II - True Person would say - yes, I speak truth.
Untrue Person would say - No, I speak opposite of the truth.

Any question thereafter leads him to the correct path.

I & III donot give answers.

Thus it is II only, I believe.

The Explanation to this question is a bit tedious. If someone can give a helping hand, I would be glad.

There are a few mutually exclusive parameters. The parameters are
1. two paths
2. two type of men
3. Two types of answers.

If you write down the possible combination, only question 3 would eliminate the two conditions of 'individual characteristics' and the 'type of answer' there by bring the answer for the third parameter path.

So my answer choice is B. If someone can draw out these scenarios it would be great. I tried, but got messed up in between. Thanks

The only way I understand the explanation to make sense is if I assume
that the member answers the response to the question correctly,( although he may lie on the truth of the statement).
Without this assumption, I cannot tell which route will lead me to the final destination.
Please let me know if I am correct in my understanding.
