Hi,
I had posted about 7-8 days ago that I was starting off the preps. I started off with CR and was referring to the Kaplan 2004 workbook(with CD) as well as the Kaplan Verbal Workbook. When I was doing CR without time limit, I was getting most of them correct. But, the timed ones proved to be a different ballgame altogether.
The Practice Tests on the workbook have about 16 questions in 25 minutes, and in both those tests, I found myself struggling at the end... as a result of which, I had to blindly guess the last 2 in each test. So, obviously, I am having problems with time management.
In the first test, I got 9 right, 5 wrong and missed 2. The second was worse, I got 7 right, 7 wrong, missed 2. Most of the questions that I got wrong were the ones I spent a lot of time in. This was a good revelation. This basically points me in the direction that if a question takes me too much time to solve, its probably best to knock off the totally wrong choices and make an intelligent guess amongst the likely candidates.
Any suggestions on increasing speed while maintaining accuracy would be most appreciated!

How about doing an analysis of the problems you do wrong.? Try to use an error log to record your errors and write notes for yourself. whenver you start your prep again, first go through the errors in your error log. With enough practice, you will see an improvement in your score.
You will definitely see an improvement. Its good that you are timing yourself while doing these tests. thats the best way to practice.

I did go back and analyzed my mistakes. Most of them I missed by a whisker... and at times I was not quite convinced by the explanation in the book. I think you are right, practice is the solution.
My question is - Where do I get more material for CR, for example... so that I can attempt more timed practice sessions. I have finished the Kaplan GMAT Verbal Workbook (there were only 3 Practice Tests of 16 questions each for CR)
