C.

You have to look for a reason that will substantiate that demand will rise locally in US. C. states this correctly.

I think the argument is talking about future market demand...so current conditions are out of scope.

The key here are the words "increasing the demand" in the passage. Even if the current market is pretty good, if the demand increases, production levels will have to meet that demand.

So, E is *not* the best. Among others, C seems to provide the best explanation.

I guess E is a better answer as the author is not talking about 'increasing' but 'sustaining' that increase once the productions levels have beent set to a higher level because of European market.

hence as per me - E is the answer
