From my past practice i observed that for the 700 level questions i'm able to get to the correct answer but consuming 2-3+min of time, if i choose some answer by taking less time, it going to be wrong. So need some help in coming out of this situation of - consuming more time.
I followed below process:
identify conclusion, if its weaken - i knew that i should weaken one particular point, but its getting delayed b/w options in deciding mainly in b/w 2 options.
Hi madgmat2019,
It's the level of the question you need to worry about but the methodology you use to solve questions. Because, once you learn the right methodology, the time automatically falls into place. Let me help you here.
There are mainly 4 frameworks on which most of the CR questions are based. And there are a set of guidelines for every framework that help you pre-think the missing link. So, once you understand the framework and learn the guidelines, the process of pre-thinking becomes very easy.
The right way to solve CR questions is to:
- Read the argument
- Identify the premise and the conclusion
- Understand the framework on which it is based
- Read the question stem
- Come up with a few assumptions by thinking along the guidelines
- Eliminate answer choices which are either irrelevant, out of context, opposite or distorted
So, your process of solving CR questions becomes a lot more structured. You get confused with two options because you are not using the right methodology. You can go through the recording below to understand the frameworks and the methodology in a better way.
And we are
currently running a webinar series in which we will be covering various topics including CR and RC. Below is the schedule for the webinar series.
Do register using the below link to receive invites, reminders and the webinar recordings. I'm sure you will find this series helpful.
So, I suggest you to
focus on the methodology and then move to practicing questions. Solving the questions using the methodology might seem tedious during the initial stages but once you get used to it, it is the best method to solve. We, in
GMATWhiz, teach you the framework in a methodical way so that your learning of the concepts and the methodology goes hand in hand. You can check out the CR module in the free trial of
GMATWhiz.
