There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I figured that this topic deserved it's own thread considering that the current 2016 thread is too populated with numerous different topics and interview specifics often get lost in the myriad posts. I hope the admins agree.
There are obviously three types of interviews: On-campus, Off-campus & Skype. Alumni interview are not conducted as far as I know, but interview panels usually have at least one alumnus on them.
So far, my research has yielded varied results; The opening questions are usually one of the big 4: 1) Why MBA? 2) Why ISB? 3) Why MBA at the juncture in your life? 4) Which career do you see yourself in and how will ISB get you there?
The big 4 don't have any "correct" answers per se and will tend to vary according your aims and essays. Most alumni opine that we should expect at least 2 if not more.
It is after this set that interviews seem to vary wildly; a few friends mentioned that they were bombarded with extremely technical and job specif questions that were sandwiched between HR questions and/or IQ related or guesstimate questions.
Other alumni spoke of questions that were not exactly job-specific but pertinent to pre or post-mba career such as the consultant who was grilled with half-a-dozen questions on ethics in consulting. GK and current affairs questions may also figure in their repertoire.
Though the interview is labelled a 'general interview', it does taken on the semblance of a 'stress' interview with one member on the panel playing bad-cop and constantly shooting down, second-guessing or out-right mocking your responses.
Please share any other resources, tips, advice and potential questions on this thread. On-completion also do share a brief review of your experiences in a what-went-well & what-went-badly structure.
