I just took my first GMATPrep practice test and was surprised with the results. I ended up with a 660 (47Q, 34V). The strange thing about it, was on the verbal, in which I answered 28 of the 41 questions correct, including 10 of the first 12. Does this make sense? I've taken 4
MGMAT practice tests and answered between 22-23 correct in the verbal section. Should my verbal score be higher, or is the software pretty accurate (and # questions right is not a big deal) and I should take the score as is?
Cheers,
RG
Quantitative is a lot more forgiving in terms of mistakes. You can get 13/14 wrong and still end up with a 48 in quant.
Verbal is very unforgiving in that aspect. But it gives greater rewards for each correct answer. Here are my GMATPrep scores for today and last Saturday to give some perspective:
Oct 27: 760 Quant: 48 (13 incorrect) Verbal: 45(5 incorrect)
Nov 3: 720 Quant: 48(14 incorrect) Verbal: 40(9 incorrect)
Notice the dip in 40 points because of going from 45 to 40 in Verbal.
I guess everyone and their mother gets most questions correct on Verbal... well atleast the native English speakers.
