Distance of one side = d
Volume of the cube = d x d x d = 27 --> d equals to 3 ; d=3;

The distance from one center to the opposite face center will be the same as the distance between faces. So 3.

Volume of cube = 27
Side = 27^(1/3) = 3
Since the distance between opposite faces is equal to side
CD=3
