We are left to interpret and guess what that ”early 2024” really means as well as “Q 4” for the start of the test and your guess is as good as mine.
However, I would expect that the old test should be available for sometime….
I can see Wharton finding itself in an awkward position because it announced that it will not accept GMAT focus in the next 12 months so potentially some of the applicants who will be applying in round 3, and submitting their applications in late March, may be cut off from test options if GMAT decides to discontinue the old test too early.
I feel there will be some bumps and hick ups in the rollout of the new test and as the result, The old classic option should hopefully remain available for a while. However, any date I pick will be an accurate because we don’t have a date.
PS. Asking GMAC direct question about either introduction of the new test or removal of the old test we are told to wait for the timeline they have not provided any direction yet. I suspect that the Q4 timeline as well as the commission timeline will be provided in late August or early September when the registration for the new test opens up. They have to know when the Test will ope to be able to open registration… 🤷♂️

"The current version of the GMAT™ Exam will continue to be available to candidates until early next year to facilitate their in-progress preparation and applications for business school."
What is the possible time frame of the phrase "until early next year"?
