When they give you two sets of categories (in this case, 1) members/non-members and 2) reduce tuition / not reduce), I make a matrix to keep all the info straight and I find this easiest. This particular problem wasn't too hard, but sometimes they will make it really wordy and not so straightforward which is why sometimes making a matrix would help.
I just jot down the categories (male/female, student/teacher, students who fail/students who pass, etc), pick numbers, and then fill it out as I read (in this case, if total students is 100, that means non-members supporting reduction is 40, etc.). I tend to get confused by all the wording, so this way you can just see the relationships.
