My apologies if there is a similar thread in this topic. i can't find one.
I live in DC Metro area and own a business in IT services and a start up in food delivery market. I have 14 years experience and living in DC metro area since 2003.
I am very much interested in entrepreneurship driven EMBA program. I had to really struggle to find a co-founder for my start up and haven't found one. i think the EMBA program not only enriches my skill set but also brings some network. from Gmat club forums, i understood that MIT Sloan is the best school for entrepreneurs. however, i am not convinced after looking at EMBA profiles on Sloan website. I understand its a great school and program for MBA (full time) but i am not sure about EMBA.
Darden, i haven't read negative reviews about this program but the majority of the crowd comes from federal consulting firms. I don't know if this program can benefit me to prosper entrepreneurship skills.
Darden is with in driving distance from me and also saves money and time. The tuition of Darden EMBA is around 135K vs 155K at Sloan. Given the commute and lodging expenses, the tab at MIT goes beyond 175K.
Are there any other programs to consider in East Coast? I am self funded and can fund up to 200K for deserving program.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks for your post. Darden has a nice program, but I agree it isn't the best for entrepreneurship. If you want to give me more information about your background, I can suggest some schools for you and discuss the different program models and tuition. Specifically:
1) Where did you do your undergraduate
2) GPA?
3) GMAT - did you take it?
4) Extra-curriculars - what else do you do outside of your companies?
While this may vary based on your responses to the questions above, you should look at Wharton, Columbia and NYU Stern as well.
Send me an email if you would like to discuss in more detail and hear how I can help you with your applications:
