Solution -
Since the mix is thoroughly blended, any amount of the mix will have the ingredients in the same ratio. In any amount of the mix, the ratio of the ingredients can be determined once the amounts of both ingredients are known.
(1) Both the amount of one ingredient and the total amount of mix are known, and thus, by subtraction, the amount of the second ingredient can be determined; SUFFICIENT. (2) Both the amount of one ingredient and the total amount of mix are known, and thus, by subtraction, the amount of the second ingredient can be determined; SUFFICIENT.
The correct answer is D; each statement alone is sufficient.
