While I'm sure tutor Dave Goldstein (GMAT Ninja) can help improve anyone's score, this post is targeted at test-takers who have scored well (700-750) independently, but want to turn their score up to 11. Simply put, Dave is a fantastic tutor. Working alone, I averaged 750 over all six available GMAC practice tests. However, come test time, I scored beneath my expectations--730. Cutting to the chase, Dave helped improve my score to 780 (Q50 V47). Dave is easy to work with and has a great sense of humor. He assigns a lot of homework, but I truly believe this was necessary in order to realize score gains in as little time as possible, which was obviously in my financial interest as well. He emphasizes the importance of question type recognition. On the actual test, I felt this training gave me a greater sense of calm. There's something about reading a question and immediately putting it into a bucket in your mind that soothes, relaxes, and makes one feel more in control. Dave also helped me develop mental test-taking methods to maintain a calmer frame of mind--on my initial take, I felt time-related panic grip me on several occasions. Dave is great, and I owe him for helping me push my score into a threshold I couldn't have reached alone. Whether you want to improve your score from 300 to 700 (Dave's managed this with a previous client) or from 730 to 750+, you can't go wrong with Dave.
