I. The city with the largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women had about _______ percent as many births in that age group as the city with the smallest population.

A. 5
B. 10
C. 21
D. 210
E. 2,100

Using the Scatter Plot,

City with the smallest population (ie, 2500) ...No of Births = 100

City with the largest population (ie, 24000) ...No of Births = 2100

So, the 21 times (ie, 2100%)

(E) is the correct option

II. The relationship between the number of women between 15 and 19 and the number of births within that population is ______.

A. negative
B. zero
C. positive

Using the Scatter Plot, it can be seen that

number of women (increases to the right along X-axis), number of child births (increases to the top along Y-axis).

Thus, the Graph has a Positive slope.

(C) is the correct option

I. City with the largest population of 15-19 year old women had 2100 live birth in a period of 12 months.

City with the smallest population of 15-19 year old women had 100 live birth in a period of 12 months.

Percentage Change \((\frac{2100}{100})*100\) =2100

The city with the largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women had about 2100 percent as many births in that age group as the city with the smallest population.

II. The relationship between the number of women between 15 and 19 and the number of births within that population is positive.

As when population is increasing there is also an increase in the number of the live birth . The number of birth is maximum for the highest population and minimum for the lowest population.[/b][/b]

I. 2100
given:
birth in the city with largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women = 2100
birth in the city with smallest population of 15- to 19-year-old women = 100
% difference = (2100/100)*100%=2100%

II. relationship = positive
as we see in the graph- when the number of 15- to 19-year-old female population is increasing, number of births is also increasing.
positive correlation.

I. The city with the largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women had about _______ percent as many births in that age group as the city with the smallest population.
From the scatter plot we know that -
The number of births in 12 months for city with the largest population = 2100
The number of births in 12 months for city with the smallest population = 100
therefore, the city with the largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women had about \(\frac{2100}{100}\) * 100 = 2100 % as many births in that age group as the city with the smallest population.
Answer E

II. The relationship between the number of women between 15 and 19 and the number of births within that population is ______.
Since, the number of births within that population is greater than Zero for each city, their relationship is positive.
Answer C

QUESTION 1

I. The city with the largest population of 15- to 19-year-old women had about _______ percent as many births in that age group as the city with the smallest population.

Least population city (2500) ----> Births (100)

Most population city (24000) ----> Births (2100)

We get, (2100/100) x 100 % = 2100%

(E) will be correct

QUESTION 2

II. The relationship between the number of women between 15 and 19 and the number of births within that population is ______.

As the women count increases, so does the Birth count.

Also, it is evident by the given Scatter Plot that the Plot's slope is +ve.

POSITIVE will be correct

Official Explanation

The answer to the first question is E. The city with the largest population (the farthest right on the graph) had about 2,100 births; the smallest city (the farthest left) had about 100 births. So the largest city had about 21 times as many births as the smallest, or about 2,100 percent.

The answer to the second question is C. Generally, the number of births is greater for cities with larger populations, so the relationship between those variables is positive.

Answer: E and C
