Deadline - Timezone mismatch

Hi
Quick Question
if a college in USA has a deadline for January 5th, so does it mean the application be submitted before 11:59 pm of that college location and not of the country say india time zone?

Please let me know as soon as possible.

Check with each school individually. Most are actually 5PM, not 11:59PM. Time zone does make a difference. For example, Booth's deadline is 5PM Central time while Wharton's deadline is 5PM Eastern.

Yes, the time zone the location of the school is followed. However, make sure about the deadline in the respective schools. Some have midnight, some have 5 PM and some 3 PM.

It is generally the time zone of the target school, you definitely want to check the school's site to confirm
