Hi
subchatt,
I can understand your frustration! Generally I would say that most consultants ask their admitted clients to post a review so of course they will rate high if they have been admitted. It's less common for someone to go online and post a review on their own, if they weren't admitted or had a bad experience. So that's probably why the ratings are so high for all. Just like all things eg movies, restaurants, ratings can be very subjective and personal so I would just continue with what you are doing - set up consultations with your top choices, get a feel for if connect with them or not, identify the working style and see if it works for you, and definitely speak to others who have used those consulting companies. Usually word of mouth is the best indicator.
Good luck with your research!
Best,
