Same with many other candidates who shared their debriefs, my interview experience was also quite conversational. The interviewer started with explaining how the interview was going to be like, then he started to ask questions that were really tailored to my personal experiences, mostly about the key decisions I made in school and at work. He has already read through all my application materials thoroughly, so he only asked about something that was not covered in those materials. -Tell me about yourself in 30 seconds -What motivated you to attend the swimming training in the early morning -Why did you start playing volleyball -Do you think playing volleyball helps you become less introverted? -Why did you decide to change company while you were considering an MBA program (my current is only one year now) -In terms of your post-MBA career goal, how will it be different from what you’ve been doing in the past in addition to location switch -What kind of software based tech companies do you want to work for? -Why did you choose Finland for your exchange program and did you experience any cultural shock -How do you deal with a difficult colleague at work (he asked me to make an example that was not in my essay) -In addition to those mentioned in the essay, is there any other reasons you choose IESE -Why did you want to go for exchange in NUS (it’s not really common according to him) -Did you apply for other programs? What’s the application progress and what do you think is the difference between INSEAD and IESE -How do you plan to fund your MBA program if you’re not given any scholarship

Interviewed with an alumni. Scheduled on 9/22 and conducted on 9/26. Day of Debrief: It was pretty straightforward: 20 mins of background overview, why MBA / career goals, why Columbia,... and then 10 mins of me asking a handful of pretty straightforward questions... BUT I don’t know how well I sold my career goals, so I’m overthinking. My interviewer was from a completely different industry and asked about why I couldn’t do what I wanted to without the MBA. I’m already in my desired post-MBA industry but looking to do the MBA to excel/advance in specific roles, so I explained that the MBA would help me do that by citing specific CBS offerings... and then when asked about backup plan, I explained I could stay in my current role and learn and grow from there but I’m looking for the MBA to do the internships in-semester and during the summer to pivot a bit functionally... but because our industries and functions are so different, I don’t know how much I sold the "advancement" story... I felt like a "pivot" would have been easier to have explain because it’s just a "i literally need the MBA to get this job," but that’s only kind of the case for me... Later, when I got the admissions call, the AdCom member asked me how it went and I was like "oh, it was good - we were from different industries so I hope I explained my career goals well." And then they said "[The alum's] feedback was nothing but positive," and that I was accepted so hey! all's well that ends well.

Had a 50-55 minute interview today with an admissions committee member. Blind as in they haven’t read the rest of the app, just have your resume. I was asked about an in-depth overview of my career history, short and long term goals, what I’m looking for from the MBA, leadership strengths, an area I could improve in, how my peers would describe me, my greatest career accomplishment, a time when I worked with different people, what I like about working in a team, any challenges I foresee in attending next year, how I’d contribute to campus, etc. I asked 3-4 questions as well.

Duration of the Interview: 50 minutes Questions asked: > Tell me your story and why did you make the decisions you made > Follow-up questions based on what I answered. Eg: I mentioned that in my Senior year of HS, I was drawn to business and finance, and that's why I took that as my major for Undergrad. So he asked "how did you get drawn to business and finance in the first place" > What does Impact mean to you? > Why do you think Darden is a good fit for you? > How do you plan on contributing when you come to Darden? > Why MBA? Why now? > Goals > Is there anything else you'd like to convey to the admissions committee? > Do you have any questions for me?

Super conversational. The interviewer started by asking me whether I wanted to remove the tie to be comfortable, so that was a nice ice breaker. Interviewer had gone through the application thoroughly before interviewing and hence the questions were quite tailored. 1. Tell me about yourself in 30 secs 2. Deepdive on my current role and academics, why I did not pursue software as a career (undergrad is engg but work ex revolves around ops & product) 3. International experience and culture shock I've faced initially (why no international experience etc.) 4. Any other schools I'm looking at and why Note: He also drew parallels with other schools and so pls be super well versed with your application and ensure your story is airtight. 5. Elaborate on the goals given in the essays 6. Why IESE? (he was looking for something tailored other than what is written in a template essay). 7. How do you plan on financing your MBA 8. Are there any other schools you have to get back to.

The interview was very conversational and some questions were personalised to my application. It lasted about an hour. 1. As a sensitive person, what strengths do you bring to your team at work? 2. Why did you choose the company you work for? 3. Tell me more about your undergrad experience - what did you gain personally? 4. What kinds of people do you find it difficult to work with? 5. Who or what instilled in you the values of compassion? 6. Why IESE? 7. Why do you want to work in Europe? 8. What is your backup plan? 9. How will you finance your MBA? 10. Which other schools have you applied to? How did you choose them? 11. The second year typically tends to be lighter in academic workload. How will you structure your second year? 12. Anything else you would have liked me to ask - I spoke about what I will bring to the learning team and how I will contribute at IESE 13. Any questions for me?

The interview was very conversational. The questions are very similar to what I read in the other debriefs. 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Talk about a childhood experience and how it has influenced you. 3. You mentioned that you like to travel. Where have you traveled to and what have you learnt? 4. How would you describe yourself as a leader? 5. What is the difference between a good leader and a good manager? 6. How would your friends describe you in 3 words? 7. Why MBA and why now? 8. Back up plan. Would you happy with said back up plan? 9. Describe your biggest achievement at work. 10. Talk about a day in your work. 11. What kind of people do you find the most difficult to handle? 12. From today till the start of the MBA program how will you prepare and develop yourself. Overall these questions came from the flow of the conversation. Hope this helps.

Had my Fuqua interview today with a 2nd year student. Lasted for one hour, including 10minutes of QnA from my end. Walk me through your journey till here. What are goals and how does an MBA come in. How do you lead teams. What do you do when there is a conflict in your team. How do you manage a person who is inconsistent with the entire team. What are you looking forward to at Fuqua. How will you strengthen your leadership skills at Fuqua. How will you contribute to Fuqua. Who is your role model and what do you look upto in that person. There was a lot of follow-up on team leading, delegation and conflict. In total she might have asked more than 15 questions.

This was the new video assessment McCombs has introduced and will replace the conventional 'interviews by invite' system used prevalently. Everyone submitting the application has to go through one. Each question is presented by a pre-recorded video. 30 seconds for prep and 03 minutes to speak for each answer. No second chances or attempts. Questions asked (not ad verbatim): 1. What is your short term goal and why. What is your backup plan in case the short term plan and why. How do these plans fit in with your background. 2. TMAT you had to overcome challenges when working with a diverse team and practice inclusivity. How did they feel about it. What was the Outcome? 3. TMAT when you had to change your plans at the last moment and how you handled the situation. What was the result? 4. What do you do in your free time and what do you gain from it? 5. Some question revolving about why McCombs. Don't remember the specific prompt. 6. What is your biggest passion outside of work, and why? 7. What makes you unique and how will you contribute to the class and McCombs community? Please be specific in your answer. I didn't get stuck, freeze or get nervous, but I took the assessment cold, thinking wrongly that it would be completely behavioral (Don't ask why!), and ended up rambling at times and repeating points. Bombed it, by my estimate. Overall, very conventional questions. Good preparation will work wonders.

Booked a slot in Open Interview Round and applied in R1. Interview matched with Alumni based in India. connected with him and scheduled Interview on mutually suitable day. Interview: Greeted each other and Interviewer introduced himself and walked me thru the process, Mentioned that he is comfortable even of the interview go beyond scheduled 45Mins time and no need to rush, also said he'll take notes in between so don't be distracted by it. 1) Walk me through your resume 2) Why second MBA? (He said this question is from him and not from Adcom) 3) Why Duke? have you done your research? 4) which other schools have you applied? 5) If not duke, what is the back up? 6) Long term career goals? (Knowing the followup, I added how duke can help) 7) Challenges as a manager? 8) the time you needed to give tough feedback to reportee? (By this time interviewer already understood that I'm well prepared with examples and said if you don't have an example for this it's fine) 9) Give a 1 min pitch to admissions (I was caught off guard, Didn't deliver my best as I though I already mentioned everything I wanted to tell him) 10) I think we covered everything, do you want to add something? (I mentioned we've covered everything not much I wanted to add) the interview part was done in around 30 mins. Then, He asked if I had any questions for him. I asked following questions: 1) How was his experience at Fuqua and how much impact did it had on his career? he gave a note of his experience, how it impacted his life choices and helped him getting oppurtunities even 15years later etc. I realized, he dropped out of his Indian MBA in middle to join Fuqua, he said for the similar reasons I've mentioned. 2) I asked him about his current stint with GoI and how they are trying to help farmers. then I gave him a walkthrough of what i'm doing in the feild in my part time. he had a few follow up questions on the topic and seemed intrigued. Overall, I felt I could have given a better framed answers at someplaces. but the the interview really picked up at the end, where we had good discussion. Fingers crossed.
