Turns out that for applications submitted in 2019 for Fall 2020 intake, they've replaced the traditional skype interview with a simple KIRA video essay submission. The KIRA interview is very straightforward and similar to all those sample KIRA questions or sample behavioural questions you can find online. Of course, Haskayne will tweak their set of questions a little bit, but most of the underlying principles/blueprint stays the same. The STAR method of answering behavioural questions is really helpful. I'd suggest you practise your responses using this method. Also, the practice questions given in your Haskayne KIRA portal are very trivial such as "What's your favorite XYZ" and these are NOT representative of the real questions you'll get. These are only for you to get used to the KIRA platform/UI/nature of answering questions online. The real questions will not be so trivial but almost always be professional/ethics/worklife/goal/competency related. So prepare accordingly. You'll have 90 seconds to answer each verbal question and around 8 minutes for the timed written one. Here are the questions that I have got, but remember that they have a large pool of Qs to give candidates, so the chances of repetition is very less. Verbal Q1 : Tell me about a time where all the other teammates at your workplace were doing all the work, leaving you with very little work to do. What did you do? Verbal Q2 : Please tell me about a time when you were successful leading a team. What personal traits do you feel contributed to your success? Verbal Q3 :What was the biggest factor influencing your decision to apply to the Haskayne School of Business? Verbal Q4 :Take a moment to reflect on your professional work experience. If admitted to the Haskayne School of Business, in what ways do you think you’ll improve to become even more effective in your current or next position? Timed Written Q : Do you think the benefits of a diverse workplace outweigh the challenges, why or why not? After a whopping 2 months, I finally got an admit into the Haskayne Daytime MBA program with a scholarship of $10000. However, I declined the Haskayne offer and chose McMaster Co-op MBA as my final one as it fit my profile and goals better. Feel free to connect with me by mailing me at [email protected]

I had my online interview with MBA2 on BlueJeans. My interviewer's screen went blank twice, but it got reconnected automatically in 1-2 mins. We started off discussing coronavirus situations at both places. Then he introduced himself, his background and where he is going to go after his MBA. He made it clear that he has a set of questions for me and he'll give around ten minutes for any questions that I have. Got the following questions 1. Why do you want an MBA? (No Tell me about yourself. But I tried to briefly explain to him how my past experience is related to my MBA goals) 2. Why are you particularly interested in Ross? Spent around 15 min for these two questions. He then said he has some behavioural questions, to check how I learnt from my experiences. 1. Time you had to work on a project with no resources or prior knowledge about it. 2. Time you received tough feedback. 3. Time you made a mistake. 4. Time your idea got developed because of your leadership skills. Had a lot of followup questions. Finally, I asked about his reasons for choosing Ross, international exposure at Ross and any tips for me. Overall, very relaxed and conversational interview. Fingers crossed. Good Luck.

Had my interview with Elle Sharma. Super fun interaction and nothing to sweat over. Just general behavioural and work related questions. Lasted an hour. My advice would be to not overthink it and stick to candid answers as you probably already have thought about all of these throughout your application process. 1. Why MBA? Why Schulich? Goals? 2. Conflict handling. 3. What does leadership mean to you? 4. Time when you had to make a tough decision. 5. Challenges you would have while pursuing the MBA slash weakness.

I had two skype interviews with HEC alumni, both from Canada. We started off with the presentation (screen shared) with some questions at the end. We then talked about myself, why now, what to expect, why HEC, etc. I also took the opportunity to ask questions, and they kindly shared their experiences and how they have capitalized on their MBA. We talked for about an hour to an hour and half each. It was very convivial.

I had two interviews with HEC Alumni. The alumni were selected based on my short term goal since both were working in the field of consulting. Interview 1 - Interview questions: 1) Introduce yourself - there were also some follow up questions from the interviewers side. He was listening carefully to what I was saying 2) Why MBA now.? 3) Why HEC.? 4) Why not INSEAD 5) How would you be able to cope with age difference in the class since you are very young 6) What do you bring to the table.? 7) What are two of your greatest skills.? 8) What are the subjects at HEC.? 9) What is your long term goal.? 10) Do you have any questions.? Overall the interviewer was very friendly and he was responding positively to the answers. Interview 2 - Thee questions asked during second interview were as follows: 1) Introduce yourself 2) Why MBA now? 3) Why HEC PARIS? 4) When was the time you failed in your professional life? 5) Did you have any conflicts in the team. how did you resolve? 6) What is your leadership style like.? 7) In Egypt how did you gel with the new associates.? 8) What is your back up plan in case you do not get admit this year.? The second interviewer was very much interested in my current field of work and so we discussed the implications of my work at length for around an hour. All through this discussion, she seemed to be gauging if the number of years of work experience is justified through my answers

I just did my interview with a current student through Zoom. Friendly conversational mood. -Why MBA and Georgetown -Leadership example when you were selected and one when you took the initiative -One example you challenged the status quo -Constructive feedback you had -What factors you consider to make a decision to enroll -Impactful work experience Maybe I missed one question, but training through the debriefs (like I did) one should be fine! Good luck to all! Practice hard before that the reward comes! I hope I get accepted. Regards,

Regarding the interview experience, it was more of a conversation about goals, what I expect from the course etc. It was very nice knowing about school, more casual and good chat with the professor. Again, everyone's interview will be different so please prepare about the usual questions of why you need an MBA, why Warwick etc.

I interviewed on 19th December. It was a straightforward interview. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why now? 4. Why Carlson? After this, few behavioral questions were asked, but the language was convoluted as to confuse the interviewee. Please don't mug up as you might get pretty nervous if you don't have good comprehension abilities. I did panic for a second but got into the track. As far as what i remember 1. Biggest accomplishment 2. biggest risk 3. Time when you had to convince a team member 4. Challenge you overcame At the end 1. What will you bring to carlson? 2. Do you have any questions ? That's pretty much about it.

We had a special assessment day for women only as they wanted to show us how they celebrate. The morning started with special panel with women alumni, and we were able to participate in class activities. After we had lunch with current MBAs. And assessment was after lunch: - case reading - case discussion in pairs - case presentation in pairs - interview - group task We also had a meeting with dean and with career center. I would say that you don't need to prepare much for the assessment - it is quite common sense and your level of group collaboration. You need to be ready for interview though - to have answers why you do MBA and what will you do after. Whole experience is very inspiring and all the people on campus were welcoming - you start feeling this atmosphere of a small group.

I interviewed with an Adcom member via Zoom. The interview was very conversational and structured at the same time. Questions asked were as follows: - Question about one hobby I highlighted in Pick 6. - What is my work like in my current role? - Why MBA? - What if Plan A doesn't work out? - Recruitment strategy - Leadership style - What roles do you generally take in a team? - How would your colleagues describe you: Your Strengths and Weaknesses? - Why Stern? - Any question for the interviewer Other tips apart from interview questions: - Goes without saying, try to reach out to as many Stern alum / current students as you can to refine your answers for questions like Recruitment Strategy, Why Stern. This, I believe, was most instrumental in my prep. Sternies are amazing people! - Sort your technology well in advance. (I didn't realize that video calls drain my laptop's battery pretty quickly. Was left with 5% when the call ended. Got lucky!) - Sort your background and lighting conditions. Ideally, do a test video call with a friend before finalizing your seating spot. Sometimes, the virtual image comes out to be quite different than what you would imagine.

I had a Skype call with Kellee from the admissions team -- she couldn't have been more helpful! You'll find many of the questions she asked below so I won't go into any further detail, but as long as you are clear why you are looking to get your MBA and are comfortable talking about your experience, you will be perfectly fine.

Hello Everyone, I went through the interview Yesterday, it was about 35 mins long. Career-related or school questions were very less. The interview was more so about the behavior related question such feedback from ur superior, the time when u worked on a project with limited information, etc. The interview went OK but wasn't completely happy with my performance. I thought the examples that I was giving she was not able to get them completely as they were core manufacturing situations. None the less will see what happens. Will inform you accordingly. Regards

I had my interview on March 18th, 2020 with a member of the career management team. Fortunately, because I had done an in-person class visit, I had already met this individual before and had built some rapport with her. It was a very friendly, conversational interview, beginning with overview questions such as 'tell me about yourself', 'why Ivey, why MBA, why now', and 'what do you like to do outside of work'. Overall it was approximately 45 minutes long. To note: I had a coffee chat with a recruiter in December 2019, did an in-class visit January 2020, attended a prospective student dinner downtown in Toronto and an International Women's Day event with prospective students in February 2020. If you can, do as much in person networking as you can. They will remember you and remember your face! I tried to show my personality and authentic self as much as possible. Here are a few questions I was asked: - Describe a difficult project that you worked on and why was it difficult? - What gaps would the MBA fill in your career? - Tell me of a time you have changed a process at work, or a time you demonstrated leadership - If plan A doesn't work out, what's your plan B? - Describe a conflict that you had with someone at work. Tips: - Create a running doc of potential questions and prepare using the 'CAR' method (context, action, result or STAR = situation, task, action, result). That way you have an idea of what you'll say when asked a question - Tell a compelling story - practice in front of a mirror, practice on your friends/family members; they are as human as you are, so make the conversation exciting and interesting - They will ask follow up questions - don't take that as a bad sign. They are asking to dig deeper into your answers and get a sense of how you felt and how your experiences transformed you. - Don't give the canned answer of 'case studies' when they ask you 'why Ivey?'. Put some real thought and research, this is probably one of the most important questions that you will be asked, and what you say will set you apart - When you talk about yourself, mention something that will make them remember you (i.e. a unique hobby, your personal experience with the Ivey admission team) Good luck! And to anyone else in the Ivey class of 2022, I look forward to meeting and working with you :)

I had interview meeting with Jessica. It was really comfortable and friendly. These were my questions that I remember: 1. Why MBA? 2. What is the struggle you think you would have learning MBA? 3. Which type of leader are you? 4. What would you do if there is a team member who can't fulfill his/her tasks? 5. How do you organize your tasks when having many of them? 6. Which questions do you have for me? The interview took about 40 minutes. Just be natural and everything is fine :D

The interview is usually conversational. For me, it was more about my work experience and my reasons for pursuing an MBA. I was interviewed by one of the Adcoms and was told the video will be recorded and viewed by other members of the Adcom and then a final decision would be made which could take 2 weeks to 4 weeks post the interview. The questions asked were: 1. Elevator pitch - tell me about yourself 2. Why UC Davis 3. Why do you want to switch industries (in case you're a career switcher) 4. How will you ensure you will get into your target industry once you graduate? 5. What's your backup plan? What if you are unable to transition to your transit industry post MBA? 6. Why MBA now? 7. 3 strengths 8. Weakness 9. Biggest accomplishment in professional life 10. Assume you're sitting in front of the AdCom panel. How would you convince the panel in under 5 minutes regarding a) How you're a good fit for UC Davis and b) How UC Davis is a good fit for you 11. Any questions for the interviewer

We were 7 participants and we had 3-4 people of admissions with us. Started at 8AM sharp for a campus visit which lasted for about 20 minutes. Then we all had a different program for the morning that consisted in: - Individual assignment - 1 on 1 interview - Individual case reading - Group case preparation - Group case presentation - Group assignment Then we went for lunch and got assigned with a current MBA student for some Q&A. After this we attended a very interesting Operations class. Each one was assigned to a study group whose objective was to analyze the case and present it in front of the class. But during the case preparation we were taken away to meet with the people from the Career center. And we finished around 4PM. Contrar to what I read from previous years, no prior preparation was needed for any of the assignments in the morning, we had everything on the spot. And at no point of the morning I felt trapped on an exercise or something, they just want to get to know you better, the mindset among praticipants was clearly not competition. And the organization was flawless. So overall a great experience that conveys a feeling of excellence for IMD!
