1. Hobbies 2. What other schools? Reason for choosing 3. Why Mays? I gave 5 reasons 4. What will I bring in with 2 years of work experience? 5. Why an MBA and Why not MS in Real Estate Developement? 6. What other companies I worked for and my experience? 7. What led me to this point in career? 8. What other qualities would make me a good fit? 9. Behavioural question- Leading a team with differing opinion 10. Behavioural question- Leading a team on an unusual project, a project that was not my cup of tea and how I delegated to someone? 11. Questions for her. I took my time in the Behavioural questions because you need time to arrange answers in STAR format. Also, I took the opportunity to ask questions as a way of demonstrating additional skills, as in if I am about to ask about the MBA association, I asked this way, "I was thrilled to learn about the MBA association as I have already won the college elections in my undergrad once and it would be amazing to campaign and win this time as well. Could you tell me how the students are elected and how they form the new clubs?"

Interviewed with Grace Kim on 21th Feb'20 and it lasted about 28 mins. The interview was extremely conversational but thorough. I can safely say that it covered most aspects of my profile. 1. Tell me about your current company, (we also discussed the career gap that I had). 2. Why do you want to do an MBA? Why now? 3. Post-MBA goals? Long term goal 4. Why marshall? 5. Tell me about a time where you faced a conflict. 6. What is the biggest misconception your coworkers might have about you? 7. What has been your greatest accomplishment to date? 8. Do you have any questions for me? Thoroughly enjoyed this interview with grace. She is really friendly and warm. Good luck!

"I had the interview with a local alumnus in Istanbul. As she was also working at a pharma company, she could resonate with the examples I gave. I wouldn't say that it was very laid back as she asked much more questions than I expected and probed me to elaborate on my past experience by giving specific examples, how I approached them and what I learned from them. -Walk me through your resume. -What did you learn from your volunteering experience? -(Regarding my internship at Strategic Planning at Coca Cola) What were the insights you gathered through a specific project? -How did pursuing a career in marketing help you with your people skills? Give me an example where you convinced someone in a challenging situation. -How did you handle a challenging situation at work? (After I mentioned I worked without any line managers for more than 6 months) -Give me an example where you worked in a team with different point of views. -What are your strenghts & development areas according to your managers? -Elaborate on your development area. -Post MBA goals & target companies -Why Booth? -My view on Chicago Approach and how it will be different from education at college. -Which courses you want to take? -Which clubs you want to join? -How will you contribute to Booth? -What do you think will be the most challenging part of your time at Booth? It lasted 45 minutes. It was more challenging than my interviews with Kellogg, Ross and UCLA because she asked many follow up questions in a fast pace manner. Still, it was a positive experience.

I had the interview via Skype with an adcom member. It was much more informal than I expected. Yet, the questions were centered around my career goals and recruitment strategy. 1)Initial question about my pick six 2)Two key highlights from my resume 3)One example showing that I could derive insights from data 4)How do you plan to benefit from Stern's office of career development 5)What would be your recruitment strategy 6)Why do you want to pursue that specific post MBA career (social impact) 7)Why do you want to switch careers now? 8)Target companies 9)Plan B if career goal doesn't work 10)What would be the challenging part of pursuing your post MBA goal 11)Where do you see yourself 10-20 years from now 12)Follow up question on my career goal 13)Anything else you want to mention to admissions committee 5 minutes were left for my questions and I asked two questions. Overall I had a positive experience but my advice would be to be prepared for recruitment related questions.

I had both the interviews on Skype. One with an alum from Korea and the other interview was with an Indian. First interview: Started off with Presentation, two to three questions at the end. The interviewer was impressed with the content and found it interesting. From there on, I had usual questions like Why MBA, Why HEC and What are my goals. After that it lasted for about an hour and I felt I was asking most of the questions regarding the school. Pretty much similar experience with the second interviewer as well. We had lot more in common - background, career aspirations etc. The school matches the alumni profile according to your short term goal. Overall, be prepared about Why MBA? Why HEC? Why not INSEAD or LBS?

Describe your current role 3. Your strengths, weaknesses and what have you learnt from them 4. Conflict management, Failure management: Mechanism and learning 5. What have you learnt from other cultures you interact with For preparation, I'd suggest you to go through your CV, essays and your strengths and weaknesses Hope this helps. :)

This was the longest interview for me which lasted 50 minutes. The interviewer was a 2nd-year student. She only told me her first name apart from which it was a completely blind interview. She informed me regarding the process and said that she had access to my CV. Also, I was told that the interview is only a part of the process and final result will depend on lot of other factors like GMAT Score, Recommendations etc. It was like a very informal discussion. The questions were as follows: - Take me through your resume starting from the course at under-graduation. I spoke for around 4-5 minutes briefing her about my journey. - A couple of follow up questions based on my replies. What does your typical day at work look like? How would your teammates describe you? - Example of a time when you worked with diverse people in a team. What difficulties did you face? What did you learn? - Why MBA? - ST/LT Goals. - Why Kelloggs? I spoke for 4-5 minutes including the list of courses offered, Curriculum Design for 1Y, Collaborative culture and team-based learning methodology. I mentioned about the people from 2nd year whom I met at a Coffee Meet in Mumbai she happened to the guy which was good. I mentioned attending a virtual classroom with one of professor and virtual session with CMC. - Which clubs would I like to be a part of at Kellogg. - Which geography you want to work in post graduation. - What steps are you taking for recruitment and networking? - What do you see as the major challenge for yourself at Kellogg. I said that balancing b/w academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities would be a major challenge for me. I said that I feel most of the people will be having similar challenges to which she agreed and said that she also faces the same challenge. - Example of working with difficult/toxic people. She started by saying that since you have worked in a leadership role you must be having some example with regards to this. There were several other intermittent questions that emanated from my replies. - Anything else that I would like to tell the Admissions Committee. I discussed a new student initiative that I wanted to undertake at Kellogg. She said that it is a good idea and the Kellogg community is highly student-driven and my idea can definitely be worked upon along with some faculty members. Any question that I wanted to ask her: - I asked about the new dean Ms. Cornelli joining and how that has led to an increase in the career outcomes increasing for finance-related jobs. - What opportunities at Kellogg will provide for the lack of summer internship opportunities for the 1Y program. - I asked about JV and Kids Club at Kellogg. All in all the interview appeared to be super interactive and there were no stress or surprise questions. My advice to everyone would be to prepare several examples of behavioral questions in the START format which helps while answering. Hoping for a positive outcome on March 25th!!! I think that I was amongst the last few people being interviewed since 6th March was the last date for the interview for R2. All the best to everyone.

Location and time : At the interviewer’s office and lasted about 2 hours ( 1.30 hours for the questions and case from interviewer’s side and the rest for my questions) The interview : It was quite like a conversation; The interviewer told me that he was in my shoes before, so he tried to make me relax before he started the interview by allowing me to ask questions about his job and past experience. The question : Here are the list of the questions i can remember. 1. Tell me about your self. 2. Follow up question about my favorite achievements. 3. Which courses or classes would i lead the study group, if i got into the LBS? 4. Tell me about your international working experience and between European and Asian with whom do you prefer to work? 5. How to deal with people who do not contribute to your team? 5. Three weaknesses and strengths 6. Any treats for my business? 7. Some questions about my interests in my application documents. (About AI) The case : the interviewer picked the question that is related to my background and my post MBA career. I really appreciated what he did. But i was asked not to share the question with anyone. I would say that the school wants to test how you logically deliver your answer. The video assessment : Everyone get 2 questions. The first question will always be informed in advance but the second will be random. Mine was the question about study group. For the best delivery, you should know your speaking speed and then prepare the answer with appropriate word count according to your speed. My two cents : For both the interview and the video assessment, you should prepare answers of as many as expected questions in advance and then practice them as much as you could. More importantly, if possible, your answers should be applied to more than one question because it will save a lot your time of preparation, for example the answer of the question “ Tell me about your rewarding experience” may also be the answer of the question “ Tell me about the time you contribute to the team” Lastly, as far as i can tell, you should be relax, confident, energetic, and positive during the interview. By the way, i’m sorry about my English. This is my first time of posting. I hope my debrief could be helpful.

Time and location: Saturday morning at the office of the interviewer. Interviewer background: pretty similar to mine; both from a family business background with entrepreneurial ventures of our own. I will agree with other debriefs here in saying that the interview was conversational, but honestly - it was exceptionally so. If the interviewer weren't taking notes, I would probably not have realized that the interview had started. Anyway, I will try to reproduce it in order, as it happened: 1. Started with asking me to tell him something not on my resume. Some questions followed from my answer. 2. How did you go about starting your business? 3. What do you like about LBS? I think this question led to a general goals question. 4. Do you have any experience working in a diverse environment? (he explained that LBS is a place that values diversity) 5. Any occasion when you faced a conflict in your business? 6. How did you build your team at your company? I think this led to another question on the kind of leader I'd like to be. 7. A lot of questions on my resume. He had obviously spent time reading through my application and asked some incisive questions. These questions formed the bulk of the interview. 8. Some behavioural questions: what would you do if you had a million dollars? If you had the chance to spend a day with any person, who would it be? 9. Some questions on my extra-curricular interests, which he seemed to like. CASE STUDY: he chose a topic for me, relating to effective communication between a leader and his organization. This was a little generic and a bit tricky to speak about. I tried to speak with examples to overcome the generic nature of the question. POST-INTERVIEW: What followed was a free wheeling conversation about life at LBS which lasted longer than the interview itself. Mostly talked about how the MBA can be a life-changing experience. We talked candidly about enjoying the LBS experience. He told me about his GBE experience and generally about what what to do while at LBS. This is the part where you can try and ask questions too. I've read debriefs where the interviewer was eager to get done with the conversation, but mine was luckily happy to answer in detail. Probably learnt more from the interviewer than the alums I spoke to. I would say that the overall purpose of the LBS interview is to gauge your fit with the school, gauge your interest in the programme, and to confirm that the application matches the individual. My interviewer did not pose any inane questions on supposed strengths, weaknesses, etc., but I'd say, know them all the same. Most of all, be confident, friendly, and relaxed. Good luck.

My Interview Experience Profile: Overall 5.5 years of experience. I took up various roles during my career. Started off as a software developer, then later took up sales, and the most recent experience comes from a startup where I juggled various roles such as operations, product management, account management, and sales. Panel size: 3 Members (ISB Alumni) Interview Duration: 1 hr 15 mins I was nervous going into the interview but knew I had to break the ice with the interviewers for 2 reasons. One to relieve my nerves and two to come off as a confident candidate. I proactively initiated the conversation after they apologized for the delay to start the interview. After the initial small talk, the interviewer started off by asking me to run through my resume. They tried to probe through my experience and also cross questioned me on the experiences I had shared in the essays. I believe they wanted to find out how proactive I was in my work. Also, there was a lot of questioning that went into my work related gaps and for which I had given them honest answers. Expereince related questions: 1) What was your strategy for account management? 2) How big a team did you manage? 3) Since you mentioned product management, how was your approach to coming up with new features? 4) Did you come up with features that generated revenue? 5) Why did you leave your third job in such a short duration? 6) Why did you have gaps? 7) Why did you leave your job again? It seems very easy for you to leave jobs? 8) You did not mention much description in the application about your job roles? Why? 9) How are you with multi tasking? I was also questioned regarding my short terms goal(product management) and long term goal(Entrepreneurship). Goals related questions: 1) Why product management? 2) Why not get online courses/certifications rather than ISB? 3) What in your terms is the role of a product manager? 4) Why ISB? 5) How do you think ISB is going to help you with your long term goals? 6) Why you think you are currently in-adept to pursue your goals? 7) How is your short term goal and ISB help you with your long term goal? There were other questions but its hard to recollect. After these, they posed some scenario based questions. Scenario based questions: 1) If you are tied up between 2 features for a product. Which one would you choose and why? 2) Suppose that you are to get an important feature implemented and you have to get it done with a specific person but this person has mentioned that he could not get this request accomodated because of the work load and other commitments of his team. How would you resolve this situation and get your work done? 3) How would you collect feedback/requirements from children to come up with a MVP? 4) Assume that we are a potential client, give us an elevator pitch of your services? In the above questions, they tried to block my answers by saying that what if that was not an option type counters. I had to come up another new solution to the situation. For example: In the question 2, when I said that I would reach out to the upper management to give me an alternative team, they  would tell that you could not approach the upper management then what? Next when I said that what if tried to reach out to other teams who could have available schedule to fit my requested, they told that that too was not an option and I had to some how convince the current person. Finally I arrived at a solution where I told that I would talk to the person to explain him how would it benefit us both if we could accomodate this request in the current hectic schedule and that it would help us showcase our performance. Like creating a win win scenario. They were satisfied. The above was the case of other scenario questions. Finally, the interrogative mode was turned down abd everybody got into a jovial mode. There was another round of small talk before they decided to end the inteeview. I shook their hands and professed that I hoped I left an impression with you guys and left. Pointers: 1) Create an exhaustive list of questions by putting yourself in the shoes of the interviewer while preparing for the interview. Ask yourself, what might they ask, what might they want to dig deep in, what is unconvincing in my profile, etc 2) Role play with a friend or someone close to become comfortable. 3) Get some exercise and meditation because it will help you manage the jitters. Remember, the calmer you are the better your performance 4) Be positive. You might start to question yourself during the preparation but do not let the negativity control you and push through. Be hopeful that everything will work out and its not the end of the world if you do not perform good. I know its easier said than done but in any case try having this mentality. 5) Lastly, I believe anybody(With the right effort) can achieve anything. So, go get what you want in life. PS: There are some questions that I missed out. I could not recollect as it was a lengthy interview. Please PM or email me at [email protected] if you require any other information that can help you guys. I will be more than happy to help.

My conversation with the interviewer was via video-call and lasted for about 45 minutes. It was a very candid and low-pressure conversation with the interviewer seeming genuinely interested in my reasons to do an MBA from this particular school, my networking abilities and also my plans post-MBA (Whether I plan to stay in Australia or move back to my home country). She asked me for examples of how I networked well because it is a necessary skill for success in any MBA program and particularly so in Australia. There was also an opportunity for me to add an emotional dimension to the interview as I was able to steer the conversation towards my family and spoke passionately about them. I would treat it as a normal respectful conversation with a potential employer/stranger.

As others have said, it was very conversational -- the adcom members are clearly very experienced and have done this a lot. They will absolutely ask follow-up questions on your stories, so be prepared for that and pick stories where you can add additional context. Questions: 1. What's new since you submitted your application? (Note: I think they ask everyone this so would have an answer prepared) 2. Questions on my experience / background 3. Tell me about a recent achievement / success you're most proud of? 4. Tell me about your experience mentoring someone, how did they respond? 5. Tell me about a time when you worked with a challenging team member? 6. What is your favorite thing about your current role? 7. Why an MBA? 8. Why Sloan? 9. Why now?

I had my interview scheduled with Ms. Jade Kinsman - Assistant Director of Admissions. The interview was scheduled for total 45 minutes and by Indian Standard Time it was around 12:30 AM. The interviewer set out the tone clearly at the outset that she had my resume and couple of notes from the Adcom member who reviewed my application. The interview comprised of mostly regular questions with few emanating from my answers. Ms. Kinsman kept on taking notes during the interview. The set of questions that I could recollect are as follows: 1. Tell me about your academic and professional background. More so about the professional experience. 2. I mentioned about leading a small team. Accordingly, she inquired about how would my team members describe my leadership style. 3. Why MBA at this point of time? Why 1Y MBA? I answered with a problem statement that I hope to solve and answered about LT goals and other factors. 4. Where do you see yourself after graduation? 5. Which geography would you prefer to work after graduation? 6. Why Cornell? 7. Tell me about a time when you had to work with a difficult person. 8. What are the challenges that you see of returning to academics after having substantial work experience. How will you contribute to the community? 9. What effort are you taking towards networking or recruiting in your preferred career choice? 10. Which clubs I would like to be a part of during my tenor at Cornell? 11. What is your plan B? 12. What do you do for fun or outside of work? 13. Anything else that I would like to communicate to the Admission Committee. Finally I asked few questions which were answered patiently and enthusiastically. - Difference b/w 1Y and 2Y and curriculum design which provides for a lack of summer internship for the 1Y curriculum. - Community culture at Cornell and details about JV and Kids Club. She finally thanked for speaking at such an odd hour basis my local timeline. She also informed that they were working to release the decision at the earliest, since the 1Y MBA program starts in 2nd week of May. All in all a good experience. Thank you to everyone who posted their debriefs before me, their information was spot on and so I felt I was well prepared for the interview. My interviewer was a member of the AdCom and it was conducted over Zoom. Overall, it was very standard in terms of the questions asked, and it was done in a very conversational way where I felt we each spoke an almost equal amount. Questions: 1. Tell me about yourself/your career? 2. Why an MBA and why now? 3. Why Georgetown? 4. What other schools did you apply to? 5. What was the most impactful work experience on you? 6. Short term and long term goals? 7. How would your supervisor describe you? 8. What advice/feedback did a boss give you that was important? 9. An unexpected, curveball question that was very specific to my career/interests There was one or two more questions that have escaped my mind now. Ended off with time to ask my own questions. Good luck to anyone reading this and preparing for their own interview!

I was interviewed by Ms. Cassie via Zoom, she is quite friendly and nice so it's really comfortable. However, I can't hear clearly some words that makes the conversation a little bit unsmoothly. Here are the questions: 1. Long term, short term goal. Why MBA? 2. Why do we have to choose you 3. A person who you admire 4. What do you do in your free time 5. Your personal goal 6. Fun fact about you 7. What else do you want to share Case: You’re in charge to move 10k cases of wine from Chile to Indiana. What factors you need to consider. This is a quite interesting question, I had around 7-8 minutes to think but I couldn't think much due to time constrain. Wish you luck with your interview!
