All the best to everybody with an interview invite! My 2 cents for the interview preparation - a) Be thorough with why MBA and why an MBA at this time specifically. Especially if you're a younger candidate with ~3 years of WE, make sure your response is articulated properly, tying back to your goals. b) Goals - short and long c) Relevant industry knowledge (I'm in e-commerce and I was asked quite a few questions on how the e-comm industry is doing in the Asian markets, my company's plans/performance in the asian markets, competitors, etc. d) Why should you be selected and how would you add value to the batch (your value proposition) e) Employment plans and back-up plan Interviews generally last for 30 min (+/-5 min). Make sure you're able to effectively communicate your clarity of thought. Finally, smile and try to have a great time :)

MBA interview preparation is similar to doing a work out - Core and supplementary. Core Questions in any interview (80% of the questions) 1. Your career progress (tell me about yourself) 2. Why MBA? 3. Why now? 4. Why NTU? 5. Why not NUS? 6. Why Singapore? 7. Goals - Short and long 8. Hobbies? 9. What can you bring to the class? 10. Strengths and weaknesses ... Supplemental questions can be any behavioral related questions 1. How do you work in teams? 2. Have you ever faced a situation in which team was going nowhere and what you did to streamline? 3. Conflict resolution scenarios 4. Leadership scenarios you have faced ..... These are few example questions. I think this set applies to any business school and more often than not majority of the questions revolve around this. Good Luck and please do share your experience so that thread members can prepare in accordance with it.

Hello All, I was invited for the coffee chat on 26th November in Mumbai but was unable to attend because I was not in India. They arranged for an interview over Skype on 28th November with professor Nilanjan Sen and Sasha Chernyshenko. The interview was more of a conversation related to my work experience and my reason for taking up the different roles in my CV. We also touched the topic of why MBA ? Why Nanyang? and Why Asia? At the end of the interview they said that I can expect an update on their decision by 15th December. Also regarding the status being application under process, do not worry because even after the interview my status is still application under process. My advice will be to attend information sessions and make the school aware of your interest.

The interview was more of a casual chat. I feel what they are looking for is if you have thought through doing an MBA and that too why the Nanyang MBA. The questions were typical interview questions and included some about my current role 1) Why do an mba? 2) Why not a part time MBA? 3) Why not NUS? 4) And why MBA in particular and not any other masters or specialization course. Just an advise, have at least 2(min)-3 questions ready for them because they kept asking me if I had any questions for them. Hope this helps. All the best to the other applicants

A behavioral interview which lasted about 30 minutes. Some of the questions I can recollect are : 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why MBA 3. Post MBA career goals. 4. Plan B if Plan A does not work out. 5. Why Tepper Tell me about : 6. An instance where your team was utilized by another team 7. a failure story (Don't remember the exact question, but I asked to talk about an instance when I failed) 8. Experience working with different cultures. What did you learn? 9. What do you do outside work? - I spoke about a meditation practice cultivated a year ago. It was blind interview where the interviewer had not seen the rest of my application.

Hi all, I had interview with Natalie Dillon , She was Associate Director of Admissions. The interview lasted for 30 mins, with questions mostly as shared in the thread. But there were few surprises too. sharing all the Q's asked to me. 1. Started of with walk me through your resume 2. Why MBA. 3. Why Now 4. LT and ST Q's 5. Why Carlson. 6.What other schools have you applied or thinking of and why in those. 7. Most difficult decision you have taken 8. Risk you have taken and why 9. How you handled yourself in difficult Scenarios ( I quoted an example to explain her) 10. What is your thought on Leadership After this there was 10 min conversation where i asked her Q's (Make sure to ask innovative Q's) To tell you all, be frank with answers, and try to minimize gaps in resume. The more the gaps in your resume expect lot of questions in terms of your past experience and they will correlate with your essay. But not to worry much. Essays will come handy as most questions will be from that only. All the Best for upcoming interviews.

Had my interview today with Kirthi Srivastav. To summarize, the interview revolved mostly around a lot of oddball questions regarding my profile and the kind of work I do, with a closing question as Why Schulich. I guess squeezing your responses in 20 mins is the challenge that many of you might face, considering that the oddball questions may not be familiar and may require a little bit of thinking to begin responding. Overall, it was indeed a great experience, and was the first time that I saw the interviewer so much aware about my profile, essays, and even the video essays. Best of luck to you all and feel free to PM me in case of any further insights required.

My IIM A PGPX interview was scheduled on 15 Dec 2018 at Bangalore. My panel had 2 alums who were quite friendly and calm. When I entered the room I was asked to pick a chit and speak on the topic. The topic I got was - "Has increased digitization led to unsocial behavior?". The entire interview was on this topic. Next, the panel moved on to some questions about my hobbies. The interview lasted for 15-20 minutes max. Surprisingly, no questions were asked on my essays or profile! In sum, stay calm and be aware of all that is going on around - as in the GK part. Read editorials of The Hindu- trust me it helps! Final result- Selected!

Very chilled and conversational! We talked a lot about my staying in NYC, the cold weather and stuff like that to break the ice.. Then she asked a few standard questions about my short and long term goals, where did I see myself working after the MBA and why, what activities I was planning on getting involved with when at Stern.. And then at the end she told me to dont expect an answer until after the holidays! Guess I got lucky that way.. :) Overall she made me feel very comfortable and calm, made it a lot easier

Hi all, Here is my Interview experience for IIM Calcutta PGPEX. Only suggestion for future aspirants from my side is to be positive, believe in yourself and whatever you are saying back it up with data points and never go back from your standpoint under pressure. My interview location was the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta campus at Joka. I had the morning 8 AM slot on Day-1 of interviews and was the third person to be interviewed. Profile: Work Experience: 10 Years in IT industry Function: Senior Consultant (Team Lead) at Capgemini Education: B.Tech, Computer science GMAT: 700, (Verbal: 39, Quants: 46) Interview Experience: Duration: 25 minutes P1: Professor-male P2: Professor-female I was asked to go into the room by a co-ordinator. I entered a long room and noticed a chair and walked towards it. On one side the panellists were sitting and I greeted ‘Good Morning’ to each of them. They also greeted me and asked me to sit. Here are the questions asked by them. How you reached the venue? After knowing that I came by Uber cab next question was why Uber? Why not Ola? Compare between Uber and Ola from customer perspective. If you are hired as consultant for a third app cab company who are starting their operations in India, what will be your strategy to beat them? Going by your strategy by what time you can expect to break even? I said 2 years. Then they said that Ola and Uber could not achieve that even in 5 years and you are expecting to achieve that in 2 years. I said with proper planning and execution it is achievable. Why don't you like Capgemini? I said no I do like working in Capgemini. Then why are you here for interview? I explained then that even after completing my course I am ready to go back to my current employer if there is an offer. Then few standard questions as given below. Why MBA? Why IIM C? Tell us about your weakness? Tell us about one scenario where you have provided innovative solution? What are your short term and long term goals? Final Result: Converted.

Hi everyone, I just had my first interview. Alumni from 2006 batch, with a background different from mine. The interview was in the Alumni work office and lasted 90 minutes. The conversation was a bit on the tough side on the beginning, with the interviewer challenging my answers constantly, so preparation was key. Besides the usual questions (why MBA, why INSEAD, which other schools, CV questions), I was asked about my leadership style, how would my colleagues describe me, what is my plan without an MBA, which would be the bigger challenge in pursuing my career goals post-MBA, which was my favorite project at work or university, how do I deal with different negotiation styles.... Overall, it felt closer to a job interview than a relaxed conversation. However, when it came to the part where I was asking questions, the vibe became much more relaxed and we actually laughed a lot. I actually confirmed that there is no indication from the school regarding the good cop/bad cop attitude, it's just the interviewer style. I guess it makes sense that they try to grill us a bit, just to check if we can handle hot water ;) As long as you were authentic in everything you mentioned in your application and your CV, you'll be just fine :) I'll come back after my second interview to give you feedback. Best of luck to all of us!

Walk me through your resume. 2. Tell me more about your work experience? 3. Why MBA? 4. Why MBA right now? 5. Why Carlson? 6. Behavioral questions for following scenarios: a. Leadership b. Conflict management c. Diverse experience 7. Do you have any companies in mind you want to work for after your MBA? Would you want to work in the states after MBA or go back to India? 8. Strengths as a team member. In the end, there for time to discuss any questions for her.

I had my interview with Trista Kukucha from the admissions team at Simon. She told me it was a blind interview so I should take the time to explain my answers and not worry about rehashing what I already have written in my essays / other parts of the application. Most of the questions were pretty standard - 1. Walk me through your resume 2. Why MBA 3. Why now? 3. What about Simon makes it a good fit for me 4. Asked about my leadership style and a leader that I admire. 5. I had to write a fact about myself which I feel was not included in any part of my application which I would like the AdComs to know to improve my candidacy in the zoom chat box - had about 3 mins This was followed by my questions about the program.

I was interviewed by Kyle MacDonald. I had met him before at the QS MBA tour in July, so a familiar face in the interview decreased the anxiety. The interview was relaxed, short and straightforward. He set the context by informing me that it was a blind interview and my application will be reviewed by two officers so as to get an unbiased view. Questions: 1. Walk me through your resume in brief, in about 3-4 mins. 2. Goals immediately post MBA. 3. Why MBA? Why now? 4. Tell me about a time when you were given the opportunity to lead. What is your leadership style and what did you learn about yourself? 5. How will you contribute to the MBA class and what do you expect from your classmates? 6. Why Questrom? 7. Other activities you wish to learn while your time at Questrom apart from the MBA curriculum? 8. What is the most innovative thing you have done to date? 9. Greatest professional or personal achievement till date? The interview lasted for about 23 mins. I got into the dual degree program: Full-Time MBA + MS in Digital Innovation.

My interview was over Skype as well. Scott took the interview. The overall tone was quite relaxed, so don't be too nervous about it and Scott is kind. - Asked about the concentration of interest and sub-concentration, all information can be found on the official site, so better be prepared. - Then standard MBA questions were asked such as * Why MBA * what company do you wish to join after finishing the program * What kind of colleague do you want to work with * tell him about a stuff that he may never hear about * Which part of your communication skills do you want to improve in the future * How do you handle a job that you are not interested in but you have to do, give him an example about this * Are you applying for another program

I had two Alumni interviews. Both on Skype. Usually, HEC keeps one in-person but I believe my 11 plus years work-ex made it a little difficult to find the right interviewer. HEC requires you to present a 10-minute presentation and then the normal interview happens. My 10 minute presentation was from my field of work, more from the business perspective. Both my interviewers liked my presentation. Since Presentation is usually the first step, it acts as an ice breaker. The interesting the presentation is, the easier the interview gets. We spent around 20 minutes discussing the presentation. The discussion was really good and I had to be thorough with the topics in the presentation to answer those. Other interview questions : 1. Why HEC? 2. Why MBA and why now? 3. Question related to the extra curricular activities. 4. Best essay topic within the HEC application. 5. Short term and long term goals. 6. Questions from my stay in the US. 7. Anything I wanted to know. Interviewers at HEC spends the time to understand the real you and then recommends your fit in the program. HEC has rolling admissions and the results are out usually 1-2 weeks post interview.
