1. Walk me through your resume after you graduated from college.
2. Do you like your current job? She also asked me to explain to her what exactly do I work on.
3. Why MBA?
4. Why Katz?

Interview debrief for Stanford MSx
To add, the interviewer in my case took specific areas in my statement and asked me to describe in detail the insights I gained.
The interviewer also asked me to put myself in the shoes of senior management in my organization, and what I would do in that situation.
I also prepared in advance three questions to ask about the program; the interviewer would usually end off by inviting you to ask questions- it is helpful to have some on hand!

Interview debrief fro Stanford MSx
I thought I should share some tips for those who will soon have their interviews:
This interview was a lot more straightforward than I had expected. The interviewer knew everything about my application, had a list of questions prepared beforehand, and tried to cover all of them within 30 minutes.
I got around 14 questions covering past experience, post-graduation goals, what I want to get out of Stanford, etc. She also asked some tough questions about my firm and its strategic direction. What was very clear to me during the interview was that they cared a lot about what you want to do after graduation and how Stanford MSx would help you.

Since I've already spoken to the interviewer before when I was still deciding which schools to apply to, she had a lot of information about me before this official interview so not a ton of questions were asked.
not in any order:
1. Why MBA now
2. why international MBA specifically
3. Why ESADE
4. If you were admitted to the universities you applied to, what is your priority in terms of deciding which school to accept
5. How did you narrow down Europe (I only applied to European schools, universities in two countries to be specific) and why Barcelona?
6. A time when you were in a team and you faced a challenge, how did you resolve it
7. How would you describe yourself, and what do you do outside of your work
8. If someone isn't doing their part in a team, how would you handle it
9. Who is your role model and why
We talked a lot about the ESADE program and the different things that interested me. Also talked a bit about women in business etc. It really seemed more like a conversation than an interview. Very friendly.
That's all I can remember.
Interview took around 45 minutes.

Interview Experience:
My interview was scheduled on 11th Nov’17 in the India Habitat Center. I reached early at the venue to get a chance to talk to other candidates. I found many brilliant people with excellent profiles. Quite a significant number of candidates were from PSUs.
Pre - Interview Process -
All the document were verified very thoroughly. Hats off to the lady who did the job meticulously throughout the day :-D
I was sixth in line for the interview and had ample of time to network with other candidates.
Interview Begins…
My interview panel had 2 professors; 1 Female(P1) and 1 Male (P2)
I was called in by P2, after usual greetings, P1 took the charge and the interview started on a very casual note.
P1: Delhi weather is really terrible nowadays, what is the reason for this.
Me : Told her about the construction, 1cr+ vehicles in Delhi, crop burning in the neighboring states as the reason.
P1 : What can be the solution for this .
Me : It’s a collectective responsibility that needs to be shared equally by center, states and citizens. Gave some examples as well.
After this chit chat, the real interview began -
P1 : You have travelled a lot in your career. Can you tell us about it
Me : Told her about the all my jobs and locations in brief. Also, emphasized what I learn from each job and place.
P1 : What is your reason for shifting from Company 1 to Company 2?
Me : Told her that the new role was my dram role at that point of my career.
P1 : Then Why you shifted from Company 2 to Company 3.
Me : Even though the company provided me my dream role but I didn’t find any motivation as the learning opportunity was not there. I justified what I said with the evidence from my resume.
P1 was really very smart interviewer, she verified each and every word of mine with my resume and achievements and moved to other question only after getting satisfied.
P1: What do you think the current situation in IT is? What should people do to save their jobs.
Me : Told her about the current situation - the declining margins, protectionism etc. Told her that the only way out is to Reinvent yourself.
P1: What are digital technologies?
ME: Told her
P1 : What is your favorite?
Me : Blockchain. Explained her about it in detail.
P1 : When you like technology then why MBA?
Me : Told the reasons clearly, and the situation that inspired me.
P1: Which companies are you targeting for IT consulting?
Me : Told her.
Finally, P2 got a chance to speak :-)
P2 : Why IIMC?
Me : Told him about the ROI - which is best among top colleges, the focus of curriculum on numbers amongst other reasons.
P2 was satisfied and again went on silent mode. P1 took over again.
P1 : How did you prepare for interviews?
Me : Told her, how my wife helped me.
P1 : Why she is not doing MBA?
Me : Told her that we have 2 year old daughter, so, its difficult for her to manage studies and child.
P1 told that many womem did their MBA. Its difficult but they can do it. I told her that Once I am done, I will try to change her mind as well.
P1: What is your opinion on #METOO?
Me - I told her that Women has all the right to name and shame people who harassed them.
Some cross questioning on this. But she was satisfy with my answers.
P1 : What is your Risk Management as you have wife and 2 year old daughter?
Me : Since I have 2 year old daughter, I know what I am going to leave behind. This will inspire me to work hard and even harder.
Both P1 and P2 were in awe.
P1 : Any question for us?
Me : asked about the placement stats for IT consulting companies
P1: Thank you.
It was really one of the best interview of my life. I found both the Professors really smart and polite. I got a good feeling after the interview and started dreaming of IIMC.
Fortunately, this dream became a reality on 25th Nov’17, when I received the much awaited email of Admission Offer. And Now, I am eagerly waiting for 24th April'18, which will be my FIRST day in my DREAM college.
Few Tips -
1) Be 200% clear about Why MBA? This question can come in various forms and you should be ready to tackle it.
2) Know your Resume thoroughly. Have reasons for each job change.
3) Be Honest. Professors are very smart they will catch if you cook stories.

I had a Skype interview with Maureen Plavnicky. She told me it is a blind interview. The interview lasted for around 30 minutes. She asked me around 10-12 questions. Most of them were general MBA questions. Some of the questions were:
1. Walk me through your resume.
2. Tell me about your work experience?
3. Why MBA?
4. Why MBA right now?
5. What are your personal expectations from an MBA?
6. Why Simon?
7. She asked me "Who am I most inspired by and why?" and I had to write the response and send it on zoom chat. I had a total time of 3 minutes to write the answer.
In the end, there for time to discuss any questions for her.

I recently had my interview with an Alumn in my country.
In total, the interview lasted for 1 hour with about 40 minutes of questions and 20 minutes of QA / discussion about the school.
I'm not sure if he has read my resume or not, but he didn't appear to have it in front of him.
Anyway, the interviewer started with a short intro about themselves then asked me to walk them me through my resume
Then;
*Why an MBA
*Why Fuqua
* Post MBA Goals (ST/LT and why these goals)
* How can Fuqua help you achieve these goals specifically
Then we moved onto behavioral
There was 5 questions chosen from a list of questions that seem to be issued by Fuqua. I can't remember exactly but the questions were along the lines of
1) Tell me about a time you had to influence a decision
2) What is your leadership style / what makes a good leader and how do you motivate a team
3) What is 3 characteristics of a successful team
4) What unique aspect can you bring to the program
5) can't remember exactly what the 5th one was.
The interviewer took a lot of notes. They also generally didn't probe too deep into my responses. I'm not sure if this was by design or because we come from completely different fields.
The interview was very pleasant and casual and overall I am very happy with how it went. It seemed to be very fit focused

2. What are your goals
3. Back up plan?
4. Why Cornell?
5. Tell me about your leadership style
6. What are you doing to prepare yourself for the Johnson MBA?
7. How do you plan to utilise the Career Management Center
8. Any questions

I had my interview with Ashley on the 7th. The interview went well and was really more of a conversation. The interviewer trying to get a feel for me as an individual as opposed to a corporate robot :)
Since it was a skype interview and scheduled for the middle of a working day, I had booked an occupied meeting room at the office for the time slot, settled in with a do not disturb sign outside the door and tested/retested my internet connection. No surprises!
To the questions, like a said they were very conversational;
1. Walk me through your resume and follow up question on certain decision points
2. The MBA trifecta - why MBA, why now and why Olin?
3. Questions about my short-term goal?
4. How I would cope with the cultural shift of moving the US
5. If admitted how do you intend to contribute to the school and student body?
6. Any questions to ask?
The questions looked more than this when I was answering them, so I have probably missed out one or two (I must have had more than 2 cups of coffee that day)
My advice to potential interviewees: Treat it like an honest conversation and you will be fine. Be in the moment and relive your career decisions and that way your passions would come out.

I applied to Olin Business school in R2 in Nov,2015. I got an interview invite in January, 2016. However, there were really odd-timing slots on skype. My interview was at 2 a.m. in the night, so I was pretty pissed off as to why they don't care about the people who are living in Asia.
My interview was with a person who had graduated from Olin and joined admissions team.
He was a really interactive guy and asked me about things to delve deep into my experiences. We also had a common friend who was my colleague earlier and his batchmate in Olin thereafter. So we quite discus about her.
The questions asked were:
1. Short term Long term goal?
2. Why MBA? Why Olin?
3. What criteria do you have for selecting B schools? Give me 3 points
4. What if you get selected to all the schools in which you have applied?
5. Any leadership experience you would like to share, Personal or professional?
6. teamwork experience ?
7. Any unique thing about you that is not in your resume?
8. My social community initiatives. he was really interested in what do I do besides job and apps.
Overall this was a really nice experience, since he was a student an year earlier, he was quite considerate of situation of mine.
Verdict : Converted Olin but got less amount of scholarship. I had decided to go there if there were a little more scholarship.

Had a great interview experience with a current student. The questions were standard:
- - - Walk me through your resume
- - - Why MBA
- - - Goals
- - - Why Olin
- - - Extracurricular activities
- - - Any extracurricular activity which you led from start to finish
- - - Any questions you feel that I haven't asked and will add value to your candidacy
- - - Any questions for me?
At the end he said he said that he personally felt that I gave a pretty good interview. :-D . So here's hoping I make the cut.

R2 applicant here, and just had the interview yesterday. It was more of a conversation rather than an interview. Jason asked me some standard questions such as: why Olin, walk me through your resume, What were the reasons why I chose my major in undergraduate, What else you would like me to know about you. Besides, he was so nice providing me with much information about the MBA at Olin, and let some time at the end of the interview to answer my questions. After the interview, he even reach out to his colleague to discuss and then give me further information about one finance-related course that I had asked in the interview.
In general, the interview was very informative and comfortable. My advice is that you just need to be relaxed and be yourself.
Good luck!

I was anxious as I had not received the interviewer's Skype id even after sending an email asking for it.
But I received a video call as per scheduled time - advise you to login and stay online at 5-10 minutes before start time.
Below are some of the questions that I was asked:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why MBA?
3. Why now?
4. Why Olin?
5. How and when did you decide to apply?
6. Couple of "describe a situation when..." questions
7. Anything else that is not covered in your application but you would like us to know?
8. Questions for me.
After a recovering from a connectivity issue, the interview went on for about 25 minutes.

Standard questions:
1. Walk me through resume
2. Why MBA/Why now
3. Short term goal/Long term goal
4. One example about collaboration
5. How do you know about Olin/Why Olin
6. 3 factors to choose school if accepted
7. Any questions
I thought I rambled on the whole interview... However, unless you come from non traditional background, which may make the interviewer resort to some behavioral questions, I think the questions are pretty standard.
7 years ago May 18, 2019 05:05
I think it went well. I was much more confident than my last interview a couple of days back. She asked me to take her through my Resume and my accomplishments. I was asked about 3 factors that I would consider if I were to choose between offers from different schools. The rest of the questions were about my short term and long term goals, why I chose Olin for my masters and why I chose to apply now.
The interview went on for about 30 mins. I'm expecting a response from them by the end of the month.
7 years ago May 18, 2019 05:05
Just got done with my interview with Jason Brown,
Pretty standard questions like
- Introduce yourself,
- What's your story
- What are your goals,
- Why MBA and
- why now,
- some behavioural questions and in the end if you were selected in all universities you applied in, which will you select and why.
Overall it was a wonderful experience, they are looking for someone who can best fit in the Olin community.
