Hi there! I just finished my interview. It lasted around 20 min. She told me that that was the expected time for her (i was prepared for a 30 min interview). She told me that she had reviewed my resume and my career goals. Questions were very straight forward:
- Short term - Long term goals
- What specific roles would I look after?
- Why an MBA?
- Why Kellogg?
- An example of Leadership, and what skills does a good leader need?
- Give me a fun fact about you or something not mentioned in your resume.

Hi all, just had my Kellogg interview. it was with a member of adcom who said she had only read my resume. overall seemed pretty chill
- Why did you choose your majors at college?
- Why choose current role over internship?
- Walk me through elevation of responsibilities during career progression
- What does team look like?
- What would your team say about you?
- What parts of working with team do you struggle with?
- What is your leadership style? How has that changed from college to today?
- When has your leadership style not worked?
- Tell me about a time you failed
- Why Kellogg
- STLT goals
- Would you ever consider not going back to [my current role] post MBA?
- What are you looking forward to getting involved with at Kellogg?
- What else should I know?

Hey everyone, my Kellogg interview was honestly a killer experience—extremely challenging, far more advanced than anything I had anticipated. Even after 3–4 mock interviews and prepping for all the common questions other applicants got this cycle, my luck was different: I had a very experienced adcom.
She started right away saying she’d read my essays and resume, so no basic walk-throughs. My ears rose up instantly. First came questions on my choice of undergrad, and she cross-questioned whether it was coincidental or intentional—I had to defend with logic and purpose. Then she asked where I see my industry in 5 years. I gave a positive view, but she immediately pushed back: if things look so good, why switch careers and why need an MBA? That one was tough to navigate.
She probed my hobbies—why exactly these three, what their origin was, and whether I’d left others out. Then came behavioral ones: what 3 things my current manager would say about me vs. 3 things my former manager would say, and how they’d differ—it felt like a live recommendation letter. She also pressed on location: why Evanston, a college town, and not Chicago with its global opportunities. I felt she was hinting at whether I was also applying to Booth.
The whole thing ran 55 minutes instead of the planned 30–45. She kept pressing me left, right, center—scribbling notes with a firm face, almost no smile. Honestly, it felt like an HBS-style grilling. Compared to the very linear, straightforward interviews with second-years, this was in another league. Definitely an interview I’ll remember for a long time.
Key Takeaways from My Kellogg Interview
• The interview was far more rigorous than expected; preparation for “linear” questions wasn’t enough.
• Never flaunt or overstate—every answer can be cross-questioned.
• Only share points you can back up with logic, examples, or experience.
• Avoid trying to sound superior; keep answers grounded and balanced.
• Self-awareness matters more than “knowing everything.”
• The interviewer’s goal was to test if I am consistent with my application on paper and in person, and how well I understand myself. Her questions at its core tested “INTENSIONALITY/COLLABORATION/LOW-EGO” aspect. WHY-WHY-WHY was constant followup.
• If you’re lucky, you may get a second-year interviewer with fairly linear questions. If your stars aren’t aligned, you may end up with a fiery experience like mine.

Interview was pretty conversational and the adcom was really gentle and nice, she mentioned that had read my entire application and the interview should only take about 30min
- Began asking about one of my exchange programs
- Asked me a couple questions about my job, my role and how was my progression
- Why MBA
- Asked about a time I faced a conflict with a client
- What I hope to learn at Stern
- Recruiting Strategy
In the end she gave me space to add anything I wanted that wasnt covered in the questions and ask her questions.

This was the "conversation" Marshall implemented this year.
Standard questions:
-Walk me through your resume
-What led you to your short term goals
-Why MBA
-Why Marshall
-What's something not on your resume that you want to share? Passion? Hobbies?
Brief 20 minute conversation, leaves you time to ask them questions.

I interviewed with Rob and it was honestly one of the best interviews i have had. He did mention it was a blind interview and he was only going off my resume, so that means explains the emphasis on resume that some candidates talk about. But, it was around 30 minutes and it goes by fast. Some questions he asked:
General resume walkthrough
Why an mba
Why emory
Two or three strengths and opportunities
Tmat you worked in a great team and what made it work
Tmat you worked in a bad team and what made it bad
I hope this helps someone

1. Why do you want a career switch? (I had mentioned my goals postgrad in my video essay, slightly different from what I am doing rn)
2. TMAT you faced a conflict
3. TMAT you helped a teammate
4. TMAT international experience (cause she read my resume)
5. My interests and hobbies
6. What resources I used to learn sth?
7. Why Tepper

The interview went well but there were not the usual questions I prepared for. So at times, i fumbled with the english and grammar.
There was no 'Tell me about yourself /. Why MBA / Why UNC'.
They already had my essays and resume open on another screen. The questions asked were -
1. TMAT you had to work under time or resource Constraints.
2. TMAT you faced ethical dillema
3. What have you already done to prepare yourself for your consulting goal pre MBA.
4. Whats the one personal trait that you think a manager should have.
5. Anything else you want to highlight which is not in your resumes or essays.
6. Any questions for me.
The interviewer was polite and professional and the interview lasted full 30 minutes.

interviewed with brigitte engel, administrative director. she was a no nonsense, don't bullshit type of person. deviated from your standard line of questions. most she focused her, and i put this nicely, "why an mba" and "tell me about your experiences that will be par with your peers."
felt tense, indicative of behavioral style questions to determine if you can "handle the pressure," which i fail to see the relevance in the EMBA program. i've dealt with immense amount of pressure, and this conversation could have gone smoother but it didn't.

Had my interview yesterday, the interviewer has gone through the application materials—not only CV. The questions are pretty similar with the format:
-Introduction,
-Short & long-term goals (confirmation abt what I mentioned in the video essay),
-Why MBA and Why now
-TMAT leadership and what leadership means to you,
-TMAT teamwork and what it means to you,
-TMAT diversity and what it means to you,
-What do you know abt CMU and what do you want to do here
To those who put other schools in the application page, I suggest you to dig deeper on why Tepper and your study plan, aligned with your goals, to help offset the doubt of the yield
