Hey Ray007,

Will need more details regarding your work experience and your GMAT score to make an objective assessment of your profile at its fit with the list of business schools that you have put. Schools are spread out geographically and cater to different segments, hence would recommend putting in more research into the school shortlist and assigning a greater weightage to those that will do align with your background and your career aspirations. Some schools can be ambitious regardless of your profile and your GMAT score given the sheer competition to get into those programs and hence have a more rounded list.

You have a good profile in the retail banking space, working with PSL and MSME credit will be particularly attractive given their its high impact. Your rationale for pursuing an MBA is spot on, with growing technology the human touchpoints in the banking space will diminish and hence it will be critical to further upskill yourself and think about new avenues where you can explore a good trajectory. The transition to consulting will make sound sense although I would also nudge you to think deeper about exploring careers within new avenues such as Digital Banking, Fintechs, Product Management roles within large tech firms relating to finances such as payments. These roles will enable you to leverage your prior experience in retail banking and hence you should be in a position to negotiate a more senior position in these roles. The choice of schools is spot on particularly on the domestic front. Would recommend that you focus on your GMAT prep and wrap up that up asap so you can focus on a building a robust application.

540 GMAT score will be on the lower end for a school like ISB, would suggest that you give the exam another shot and aim for a much higher score as your top priority.

You are thinking just about IE?
I have heard with European schools a number of folks are going back to their home countries, just FYI, esp from France and Spain since local recruiting requires Spanish skills and UK/Middle east are quite competitive. So if your long term plans are to be in home country after school, this is good but if you are planning to work for a while abroad, US or Canada tend to be better. Canada has the easiest immigration but low pay.

To add some good news - having a law degree is often an advantage for recruiting since law grads tend to have good speaking and critical reasoning skills as well as understanding and knowledge of the legal framework.

Hey, I am planning to take GMAT soon. Depending upon my scores, I am planning to apply to LBS and CBS. If you don’t mind, can you help me with that in a couple of months? Your profile is a good fit for ISB and Oxford Said (with the caveat that you get a decent 720+ GMAT score). For LBS international work experience is a factor, so do factor that into your shortlist while narrowing in on schools of your choice.

No international work ex as such just interacted with international clients. How about Judge business school ?

PS: My undergraduate score is slightly on the lower side about 65%.

Sure Judge can be a good bet! LBS and INSEAD do value International experience a lot - so if you don't have that there can be other ways to demonstrate you international inclination.
After 7 years your academics will have a slightly lower weightage in your application since schools understand that its was a long time ago and nothing you can do about it now. One way to offset any such concern can be through a solid GMAT score and showcasing good professional career development in recent years (think about promotions, leadership roles, intra/inter office initiatives etc.)

You can also add HEC Paris to the mix, has been a decent feeder to Amazon Lux and other tech firms across Berlin and Amsterdam

Also which version do you think is best giving GMAT right now ? Old version or GMAT focus ? Are schools accepting GMAT focus score ?

HEC Paris is 16months (so slightly over a year, but the additional 4 months shouldnt be a major concern). If you are ready, would strongly advice for Round 1 given that all spots are open and chances of scholarship is also higher - plus gives you the opportunity to recalibrate your strategy for Round 2. UK job market is facing headwinds but options are there for graduates from top b schools, they have limited spouses so that is something to watch out for in case you have a spouse that wants to relocate with you.
IMD is also a strong program but its in the Jan admission cycle and places well for general corporate roles - not necessarily a tech powerhouse.

GMAT focus is basically a way for GMAC to counter GRE's growing popularity amongst test takers. I guess it goes live Aug end and all backend infra will be in place by Q4. Since schools wouldn't have test taking data hence it will be difficult for them to place your academic aptitude on conventional GMAT grading scale (due to the lack of data) which can work against you. Best to go for the old GMAT edition otherwise the GRE.

How is Singapore Bschools for my profile ?

NUS is a good gateway for careers with Singaporean offices of large tech firms like Microsoft, Meta, Linkedin, plus some high growth SEA focused unicorns. Hey viditg,

You have a strong GPA, however your GMAT score would be slightly below median for both the schools that you have shortlisted. Since you belong to the overrepresented demographic, would advice you to think about improving the GMAT by a couple of points or thinking about another set of solid schools that dominate the Technology recruitment. Since Big-tech overall doesn't factor in your GMAT during the recruitment process (unlike Consulting and some banks), you can think about some solid options closer to the Tech hubs of Seattle, Bay Area which will prove to be an advantage during the recruiting process. There are some other schools which will do a better job on Tech recruitment than Duke Fuqua, although Ross is a very solid option for Product Management.
Overall the Tech Risk Consulting profile is pretty decent and will enable a smooth transition into a PM role with a large technology company from a skillset and experience point of view. Just focus a little harder on selecting the right set of schools and putting in a solid application.

Thanks a ton for your comments. I actually have 2 exit plans in mind: Tech or Consulting. I checked the median GMAT for both Duke and Ross and I believe I'm right at the median score as of now. I agree I'm from an overrepresented demographic but I am first generation college student. Would you be able to recommend other schools that I should target?

Median GMAT score usually doesn't cut it for Indian students as there is an expectations of higher scores from an overrepresented demographic. Fuqua is pretty solid for Finance and Consulting, outside the above your should think about schools like Tepper, Anderson, McCombs, Marshall all of whom have really good tech recruitment although their consulting recruitment maybe a notch below the likes of Ross and Fuqua.
