Hi. Sorry about the long wait, is 2.4 a western GPA or is that a local GPA from your country?

Just trying to gauge how low it is... and have you submitted an optional essay explaining the GPA in case it is low?

Hi bb, it’s from a US college and yes I submitted optional essays to explain what caused it. Have you seen anyone that has similar profile successfully get in a T15 program. I’m thinking whether I’m going to reapply or not

Sorry, I missed that you had a 3.7 graduate GPA. That is the GPA that will be considered for your application and that will go into the evaluation so your low GPA is not really the reason for any lukewarm reception that you’re getting....

I have known an applicant from China from last year who worked for TikTok, had gmat at 760, and she could not break through the top 15 in the US for some reason. She got into Insead and other European programs but none of the US ones. It was pretty puzzling to me.

Priyanka here from ARINGO. Sorry to see that you have been dinged at some of your target programs. Were you able to identify what might be going wrong? Like BB mentioned, your GPA should not be a concern. Plus, your years of experience also look decent to me. It will be very important to identify what might be going wrong. You also have a strong GRE, so that again cancels out as a reason for your ding. Hi. Good luck with the applications. I think I’m with you in terms of the school choice and looking at scholarships.

Your career progression sounds strong. I think the only weakness in your plan is the GRE score. The score is great but most of these programs do not publish their average score and I’m not not sure how willing they will be to offer a scholarship in that situation. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they will not, I’m just saying I do not know. You apply and look at the results for your round one and then potentially adjust your strategy for around two and since you’re also quite young and very promising, you can potentially even adjust an apply next year as well.

I would say overall you have a great profile. Having a little bit more work experience would be great but since you have had promotions and awesome trajectory , the years are less important.

Hi bb! I’ve been invited for an interview at Scheller! I’d love to hear any general advice or tips I should focus on to make the best impression.

I think in terms of tips and recommendations, I would recommend following the recent interview prep sessions we’ve done. We covered all of the M7 schools and I think all of them besides Wharton and Harvard would be applicable. I can find the link for you If you don’t have it.

I don't think his GRE score is a weak point. It's well above almost all the averages in even top 15. And someone coming from Pakistan, I don't think he is over represented. The GPA, if it's over 4, then it's amazing. For me all the chosen schools are really safe. If he works well on his essays, I have no doubt he'd get interviews for all of them and continue from there. I'd suggest you try 3 more ambitious schools like Cornell, Ross, and UNC. Come back to thank me later

Thanks for the feedback! Suggestions taken, I'll be targeting Cornell Johnson, Ross, and Tepper in the next round. Right now though, I'm all in on prep for my interviews. Really hoping to land scholarships!

I hope so too! I’ve just seen Les motivation among schools to provide scholarships for GRE applicants but this is purely anecdotal.

Weird Question...Do you remember time of day you got your acceptance offer/email from Scheller? Next week Friday i should be hearing my decision from Scheller for Round 2.

No worries, I had similar questions. The wait does give anxiety, I got the decision email at 10:22 am.

you have a lot of great stuff going for you. The work experience + volunteering work sound quite fantastic, and I am surprised that you only had an interview at one b-school. If you dont get interviews at all, you should look back into your applications to understand what could have gone wrong.

Hey, impressive profile overall. The US schools are becoming more careful with admitting international profiles, so maybe that is a reason you haven’t seen the response you expected. The waiver is another element that could have led to this situation. Candidates who pitch post-MBA goals in consulting are expected to have a well-rounded GMAT/GRE score unless they have an exceptional quantitative background, which likely isn’t the case for you. You need to look into this seriously and try to sway the schools with a good GMAT score. Also, look back at the applications to see if the Product Design experience you pitched had the right elements to make a compelling case for post-MBA goals in digital transformation.

I would recommend exploring top consulting schools in the EU/UK (INSEAD, IESE, LBS, Oxford)

My case was different, as I was interviewed with a GMAT Date not a GMAT Score.

The deadline for notifying scholarships for round two is approaching I am assuming you will soon.
