Hi @Clover159, I'm from Vietnam too and also applying for 2024 intake. I have connected successfully with Hoang so if you need help, please DM me (he's already matriculated so I guess he'd be very busy now).

Interesting to see that a person was denied at Kellogg but admitted at HBS. you could argue that maybe they knew that they would not matriculate or sensed it, but I don’t think so. If they had a really strong candidate, they would’ve admitted it. I think this shows an example where admissions can be a crapshoot… unpredictable.

@bb Totally agree. It could also because that somehow the applicants pool that specific year for HBS didn't have many people from similar background/profile but for Kellogg there were many. bb please could you help quickly scan through my profile and share your thoughts?

I think Harvard having the most applicants of any business school would not have a lack of strong candidates. I’ve heard that the strength of Harvard class is so strong that they could fill two classes if they want it and not go down and quality… I think this is more on Kellogg and than Harvard.

PS. I’ll check your profile. Sorry if I haven’t seen it

You're correct that HBS has the most applicants but not many from my country. I have scanned through the decision tracker in previous year for Vietnam applicants to HBS and found not many. There were people are (I know) would make a strong candidate for HBS but didn't apply as they thought HBS as "best in the world" and went for a little lower reputed schools (outside HSW).

HBS scholarship is need-based, which is unique compared to other programs. Basically if you get into HBS, and you make less than 65K/year, you are getting some money, and if you are an international, you are going to get quite a bit of money... if you get in ;-)
