With a curious mind and a heart of gold, I, from a very young age, wanted to break the orthodox gender barriers in my hometown and pursue an education in STEM. With unwavering support from my parents and inspiration from my idol - Astronaut Late Kalpana Chawla, I not only managed to pursue my bachelor's in computer science and Information Tech but also worked in a few of the most challenging software development roles in the country.
My professional journey started at Oracle, where I was fortunate enough to have exposure to a wide variety of work-streams. I progressed towards a more challenging role at Morgan Stanley due to my success at Oracle and my penchant for continuous learning. Here, my individual contributions were accompanied by my team management and leadership skills, thus improving my overall business acumen. Following this stint, I wanted to increase my scope of work and widen my area of expertise, thus joining JP Morgan. At JPM, I am responsible for end-to-end design and development of complex products.
Reflecting on my journey so far, I realised that to take the next step in the business world, I need to have a holistic understanding of business fundamentals and discover and develop my leadership style. An MBA from a leading business school will be the ideal conduit for me to do so.
Outside of work, I love dancing, I am a voracious reader with a bookstagram of 5k+ followers and an active community and love giving back to the community by teaching high schoolers.
Short-Term Goal
With six years of software development experience in the banking sector, I've observed the transformative potential of fintech firsthand. Positioned at the intersection of technology and finance, the industry is revolutionizing the way we transact and communicate. After completing my MBA, my ambition is to transition into a product management role within a fintech entity like Stripe, Klarna, Venmo, or Zelle, or the fintech wing of a top-tier tech company such as Amazon Pay, eBay Payments, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. I aim to leverage my IT background, enriched by the business insights gained through the MBA, to bridge the gap between technology and user-focused solutions. This goal aligns with both my professional development and my passion for shaping the future of financial innovations.
Long-Term Goal
Having lived in both the tranquil landscapes of rural India and the bustling streets of Mumbai, I've witnessed a significant gap in financial literacy. Despite India's ascent in the fintech landscape, many in rural areas are still vulnerable to deceptive financial schemes, from misleading insurance to questionable investments. My extensive experience in the fintech sector has endowed me with a deep understanding of these disparities.
With a solid foundation in financial services and software engineering, I aspire to further refine my expertise through an MBA. My vision is to create a digital FinTech platform specially designed for India's rural communities, focusing primarily on fostering financial inclusion. This platform wouldn't just serve as an information hub; it would act as a guiding light, steering users towards genuine financial products that align with their means and aspirations. Through the MBA program, I aim to bridge this financial knowledge gap, advocating for every individual's right to make informed decisions and achieve authentic financial independence.
