Hello everyone,
Here's a brief overview of my profile:
Work Experience: Nearly 3 years, with significant roles in two startups. In my first role, I was part of the founder's office of a startup with 800 employees, where I received a promotion within 6 months and was managing a small team. My second role is in the sustainability and ESG sector as a strategy analyst. Here I work closely with the top management. Additionally, I have a year's experience in a non-profit venture capital firm, contributing to my social impact credentials.
- Academic Background:
- 12th Grade: 94%
- 10th Grade: 95%
- Undergraduate: 9/10 (B.Com Honors from Delhi University)
I'm targeting the ISB but I'm late for their Round 2 applications, with only 5 days remaining. I'm confident that if I wait for Round 3, I can improve my GMAT score by 30-40 points.
My Dilemmas:
1. ISB Application: Should I rush to apply in the current round (Round 2) or would it be more strategic to wait and apply in Round 3 with a potentially higher test score? I have heard that acceptance rate for round 3 is low.
2. INSEAD: Based on my profile, do you think I stand a chance in Round 3 for INSEAD?
Any guidance, especially from those who have navigated similar paths would be immensely helpful.
While Round 3 is generally tougher, ISB added R3 fairly recently I believe (correct me if I am off; ISB is not my expertise) and since the crowd of folks at the MBA spotlight ISB session was a bit thin, perhaps the R3 applications will be more fruitful.
I think between 5 days left and ability to bump your score, I would pick R3... would be a better chance all things considering.
INSEAD R3 is not terrible but you have to weigh what is more important to you - getting into a program this year vs. waiting for R1 next year. I could not wait so I applied in R3. 🤦♂️
Given this, I'm exploring the possibility of applying to schools like ISB, INSEAD this year. I'm hesitant to target Indian or European B-schools next year when I'll have more experience. I can wait for Round 1 of INSEAD's January 2025 intake, because by Jan 31 i will be able to cross the 97 percentile barrier (aiming for a 760 honestly)
