Hey, @BLMBA

For a more effective MBA application, concentrate on expressing your unique story and professional goals. With a GPA of 3.4 and a 159 EA, you have the necessary academic background to help you transition from corporate banking to investment banking. In relation to this change, you must mention particular experiences that made it possible like particular projects or roles that show your analytic abilities and understanding of finances. Moreover, at work, make much about your leadership roles in recruitment and networking; as well as what they have contributed to your professional development in terms of skills and relations with other people.

Furthermore, the voluntary work done in the church shows how committed one is to community service while maintaining a balance between personal life and professional career. The point of these essays is to portray an enthusiasm for finance and how all the resources of each program, such as industry connections or experiential learning opportunities, will facilitate your move up the career ladder. By linking all of these factors together, you can create an appealing storyline that both admission committees would understand.

Hi BLMBA
I am Priyanka, Clent Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks good on the surface particularly your work experience in a European bulge bracket bank and your involvement in recruitment and leadership roles. Columbia and Stern greatly value applicants who exhibit leadership, analytical skills, and a global perspective. Your ECs, such as leading the worship team and volunteering at the church, showcases your ability to collaborate, lead, and give back to the community (Social impact is indeed a plus point).

However, to really stand out in the competitive pool of applicants, consider quantifying your achievements in corporate banking. For instance, how did your work as a staffer impact the team's efficiency or revenue? Additionally, given your target of technology investment banking, gaining exposure to the tech industry through projects or networking would significantly strengthen your application. Demonstrating a deep interest in the intersection of finance and technology will be very crucial.

To get a better sense of your chances, we should chat more about your work experience, what you're passionate about, and your long-term goals. Please connect with us or share your CV so we can assess your profile comprehensively.

Hey, BLMBA

Adding when writing your essays, highlight your passion for technology and desire to become the CFO of a technology start-up eventually. Expand your profile even more by enrolling in extra-related courses that show you are dedicated to constant learning, thus enhancing your numerical skills. Mention instances of tech/innovation projects in corporate banking.

Specify accomplishments in work experience and extracurricular involvements. Take up more positions with leadership responsibility. Involve yourself in finance and tech-focused organizations outside of class. Continue community service while seeking opportunities aligned with career goals.

I Would like to discuss your profile in detail :D. Click here to schedule a complimentary profile evaluation session with our experts . We match you with the students and alums of top B-Schools according to your background and target schools.
