Hey Neha,

Vashi here from LilacBuds.

You have a good GRE and GPA which would make for strong academic background and with 6+ years of experience you should be good fit for both your target schools.
We at LilacBuds would love to assist you and would therefore require more details about your profile, academic, professional as well as extracurriculars. You can connect with our team for a detailed profile analysis at https://lilacbuds.com/services/mba-cour ... consultant or leave a message on +918448335484 for a direct reachout.

You can also share your CV on vashi.gupta@lilacbuds.com .

Hoping to hear from you.

Hi @Neha Saha
I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your 6+ years of experience in consulting is impressive, but your GRE is a bit below the average of the programs you are targeting, meanwhile your GPA hasn’t been good either. Do you have any other certifications which can be used to compensate for your low grades? Or are you planning for a retake?

The schools that you are targeting look for candidates who do not just do well in their studies but have an overall strong profile on all aspects. HEC likes people who are good with numbers and can think deeply while NUS wants people who are creative and know about different cultures. On the other hand, Fuqua looks for people who can work well with others and are leaders. You need to show how your work experience has polished you with these skills. Your ECs and Essays will also play a very crucial role in getting an admit, work on that!

Feel free to connect for a detailed discussion.

Hey, @Neha Saha

Your profile is competitive for MBA applications, with a GRE score of 317 and a GPA of 3.13. For most graduate programs, including business schools, a GRE score between 310 and 320 is generally considered acceptable, though specific requirements might vary depending on the institution involved. Your score of 317 thus falls within this range, making you eligible for a good number of reputable universities.

Although your GPA of 3.13 is somewhat low for top-tier schools, it can be compensated by your work experience and GRE score. Often, business schools are interested in students who have done well academically and have scored highly on standardized tests and exams, as well as those with practical experience that is relevant to the field in which they want to specialize. In your case, having spent more than six years in consulting will add significant value to your application since practical knowledge and prospects for leadership rank high among most colleges.

Focusing on writing persuasive essays that bring out your consulting experience, career direction, plus motivations for an MBA may enhance your applications to HEC Paris, NUS Singapore, and Fuqua. Each program has its own way of evaluating candidates; therefore, highlighting how different you are going to contribute or what your aspirations are will be important when it comes to distinguishing yourself from the rest of the applicants.
