I hold a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Construction Management, with a GPA of 7.78/10. I was honored as the Overall Best Student in my undergraduate program and received a medal for Exceptional Contribution from the Navy while on deputation from the Army to the Navy. Following my studies, I gained one year of entrepreneurial experience by starting my own import-export company before joining the military.

Post-MBA, I aim to become a consulting associate, assisting global organizations in solving supply chain and operational challenges through data analytics. I plan to leverage my expertise in strategic planning and risk management to optimize resources and enhance business performance. My eight years in the military have honed my leadership and problem-solving abilities in high-stakes environments, and I actively participated in extracurricular activities, including the debate club

Thank you for your services to the nation, Sid. Though being on the higher side of experience for most schools, your veteran status could help your candidacy. That said, your scores are mostly going to be seen at par with school averages. This could mean that how you showcase your past experiences and the portability of your skills into consulting (think: "Where will a firm be able to bill you?") will matter most in your applications.

Hey sidharth273,

Vashi here from LilacBuds. Thank you for your service.

You have a good GPA and your GMAT score is near the class average for most places you are targeting.
You need to make sure that your application essays reflect your experiences and your past learnings. Your need to play to your strengths. Do make sure that your post-MBA goals are clearly depicted in your application essays and how each specific school will be critical in helping you achieve the same. Being a Defense personal will add diversity to your background as well. You are higher on the work exp range and that is why you should utilize your essays in the right way to depict your story. Ensure that they showcase your leadership skills.
Interact with alumni and having strong recommendations will be a big plus for your admit chances.

Also, look at the 1 year programs for the schools and also the GEMBA at Washington.

We at LilacBuds would love to assist you by connecting you to alums/ mentors of top B-schools and would therefore request more details about your profile. You can connect with our team for a detailed profile analysis at https://lilacbuds.com/services/mba-cour ... mpaign=GCV or leave a message on +91-84483 35484 for a direct reachout.
You can also share your CV on vashi.gupta@lilacbuds.com .

Hoping to hear from you.
