Electronics Engineer->Founder->Consulting->VC(India Early Stage fund)->VC(Global Growth+Early Stage fund). Total work ex of 4+years mostly (~3.5 years in VC)

Grew up in a small town in Bihar, India, went to PES University, Bangalore to pursue electronics & communication engineering.
Started a startup in 2019 during my college, scaling it to a certain degree and raised funding from angel investors, shut down during COVID.
Graduated in 2021, did a short (6months intern+8 months FTE) stint at ZS Associates doing pharma consulting, left to join a leading domestic Indian VC fund (1.5 years) where i did the entire gamut of investing from deal making to helping portfolio companies grow, followed by a legacy Asian/Japanese VC where i did early and growth across india+sea (currently 2 years+). Have done public speaking and thought leadership and shared the stage with multiple relevant personalities while promoting entrepreneurship in the state of Bihar, India.
Plan on shifting to a tech buyout fund in the US post MBA.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks interesting and differentiated with several strong elements. Coming from a small town in Bihar and building your way through PES, founding a startup, and then moving into top-tier VC roles is a unique trajectory that H/S/W schools value. Your mix of entrepreneurship + consulting + investing creates a well-rounded story that ties directly to your post-MBA goal of shifting into tech buyouts. The public speaking and thought leadership adds a strong personal dimension, showing impact beyond just career progression.

On the academic side, your GPA is decent, so your test score will play a big role. I didn’t see a GMAT/GRE score mentioned in your profile, do you have a score yet? or any mock score? For H/S/W, a strong score would be important to balance out your GPA and strengthen your candidacy.

Overall, I’d say you have the raw ingredients HSW looks for: differentiated background, impact, and a clear career vision. With a strong test score and well-crafted essays that tie your roots + entrepreneurial drive + investing track record into your long-term PE vision, you’d be a competitive candidate.
