I am an engineering graduate (CGPA ~8.0) from a top Indian private university with a minor in business, and consistent academics (around 90% in secondary education). I currently work as an analyst at a global energy and commodities research firm, where I was promoted within the first year. I was part of a small founding team that built analytics capabilities from scratch, with exposure to client-facing research and international offices in Europe and Asia. Alongside work, I have held leadership roles in a national-level student competition, competed in inter-university sports, and volunteered through a service organization. I am applying to top Master in Management programs in Europe, the UK, and the US.

Thanks for sharing your profile, @veritatisaperiam! Starting with your strengths: experience would be ideal for MiM; engineering CGPA ~8/10 from a strong private university; minor in business + ~90% in school; consistent academic ability, a 318 GRE score can be competitive for MiM (not a red flag). Early promotion (a strong positive signal), building founding team analytics capability from scratch, client-facing research + exposure to Europe & Asia. Leadership & ECs: National-level competition leadership, Inter-university sports and service organisation volunteering.

Talking about the schools:
INSEAD MiM: They love early leadership and international exposure, and strong career momentum (promotion helps a lot). A 318 GRE is within range, but can be slightly on the lower side.

Kellogg MiM has a good emphasis on leadership potential, teamwork and clear post-MiM goals. It can be less test-obsessed than some European schools.

Booth MiM is an analytical and quant-heavy culture. It likes candidates who think rigorously and enjoy data-driven problem-solving.

Risks: GRE score is slightly below the top end. 318 is fine, but if you know you can push to 322+, it would help marginally, specifically at INSEAD. Not mandatory, don’t retake unless practice tests justify it. Post-MiM goal clarity, “Energy” is too broad. You’ll need to specify- function: strategy, analytics, trading support, consulting, energy transition roles? Track: industry vs consulting vs advisory? Geography: Europe/Asia/global? Clear goals matter a lot for MiMs.

If you'd like, you can also explore other schools such as HEC Paris, ESSEC, ESCP, LBS, Imperial, or Warwick.

We’d love to learn more about your academics, extracurriculars, work experience, and personal journey so we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and honest school assessment. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Cheers!
