If you are going for MBB or IB you arent seen as someone who "needs" deferred admission because you can do just as well applying later. They are looking for people who want to take a big risk and in order to do that, they need to have an MBA as a safety net (or a means to take it bigger)

Jjjjjjjjhhhhhhhh
After studying for the GMAT and trying the official practice tests, I realise I might not be able to achieve a sufficient score for top deferred MBA programmes. Wanted to ask for some opinions from you guys who are more experienced!

Some background:
Final year university student at a top 5 UK university, STEM degree with first class honours. I have an IB internship completed and an IB full-time role lined up. GMAT practice tests were 670 and 690 and I'm running out of time to do any more revision (most deadlines are ~10 April);
Extra curriculars wise, I have some leadership experience at university but by no means strong not extensive; Have personal interests as well but definitely not super unique;
Come from an average ethnic/social representation.

I'm looking at the M7 business schools and am unsure if I'm being too ambitious with my current GMAT score.

What do you guys think? I've studied for about 2 weeks so far and took the two prep tests, one on my first day(670) and one yesterday(690). Should I pay the £270 for GMAT and submit an application or should I spend some more time studying for the GMAT and take it when I'm ready, to get a good score for a normal round application in a couple years time?

I am tempted to pay the fees, take the test and submit an application because everyone says that there's no harm in applying and they wished they did when they were undergrads.

But on the other hand I am also apprehensive for a couple reasons: I believe I have some potential for marginal improvements as I was mostly focusing on SC the last two weeks; I am also quite reluctant to pay the GMAT and application fees; I've heard that deferred admissions are more competitive than regular round admissions, I don't know if I'll just be wasting my time and money by rushing an application now.

All opinions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks all
