Define \(x∇y\) by the equation \(x∇y = xy − y\) . Then \(2∇3\) =

(A) 1

(B) 3

(C) 12

(D) 15

(E) 18

Answer= (2*3) - 3= 6-3=3.

Given that \(x∇y = xy − y\) and we need to find the value of \(2∇3\)

To find \(2∇3\) we need to compare what is before and after \(∇\) in \(2∇3\) and \(x∇y\)

=> We need to substitute x with 2 and y with 3 in \(x∇y = xy − y\) to get the value of \(2∇3\)

=> \(2∇3 = 2*3 − 3\) = 6 - 3 = 3

So, Answer will be B
Hope it helps!
