Hi, I have admits to both schools and need to make my decision soon. Here's what I have influencing my decision so far:
- Degroote has been around for many years and has an impressive list of partners. Lazaridis apparently has great placements too but it's hard to find any info online for it.
- Degroote is 28 months and 47K with 2K scholarship while Lazaridis is 20 months and 37K with 5K scholarship.
- Lazaridis average salary afterwards is 72K, Degroote is 69K. Why stay in a school for 8 months longer if the end result is a similar looking salary? I'm already at an age where I don't want to do too much more schooling, I just want to get into the workforce.
- Degroote is closer to Toronto, so I can commute or I can rent, but if I go to Waterloo for Lazaridis it has to be rent.
Overall I'd love to hear from real graduates from the two schools, what did you like/not like?
Hello
FomorianCongratulations are in order first.
I did research of all existing Canadian Universities for my own purpose, so I am very familiar with DeGroote School of Business/McMaster University and Wilfrid Laurier University/Lazaridis.
Though there are not that many Canadian as US Universities, not even close, which I also scanned in full (with AACSB Business School Accreditation exclusively) believe it or not, but that is another story.
You will not find many people here who did that I am sure.
DeGroote is obviously better known and better ranked school.
If we use your Canadian rankings,
Ranked by Reputation DeGroote comes as 9. in Canada, there is no Lazaridis in top 10.

You may explore in more details this 16+ months option, since this is your prime concern, duration of the program.
There is also Accelerated program length: 8 months, for 37,300 CAD.https://www.canadianbusiness.com/school ... roote-mba/https://mbarecruit.degroote.mcmaster.ca ... d-program/https://find-mba.com/schools/canada/bur ... #full-timeYou can start getting work experience after only 4 months in the Co-op program.

Lazaridis does have MBA option in Toronto campus, part time, accelerated and dual degree, but you didn't mention that, so I will not go into details.
