I'm in the US, I have to apply for that Quebec Study Permit and a Canadian Student Visa

Correction : Quebec Acceptance Certificate(CAQ) and then canadian student visa.

I applied to CAQ yesterday(online mode), but got stuck with couple of fields, hence had to cancel the application.

One of the field was Accompanying persons.
My query is; I want to bring along my wife on a open work permit; should I apply for her CAQ at this time along with my application ? If yes ,then what is to be filled in the field ‘Reason for being in Quebec’, the options in the drop down menu are; Canadian Citizen, Foreign Consular Staff, Foreign Diplomat, Foreign Student, Permanent Resident, Person without Status, , Refugee, Temporary Foreign Worker, and Visitor.

Which one should I choose considering I want her to work(preferably in Quebec, but even Toronto is ok) while I am studying so that there is no financial burden on me.

I would call the first year office, I went in there when I visited McGill 2 weeks ago and they seemed very helpful. I'm sure they can tell you which option to pick for your wife.

I might be joining McGill this fall too. I am from India, have been working in the US for about 6 yrs. Tired of the slow immigration process and job growth prospects.

I want to switch into Finance.. But I see that McGill has an option for double specialization - any info on that?

There is a minimum of 1 concentration so you can do 2 concentrations. Your electives would go to the 2nd concentration. I'm considering concentrating in Marketing as well as Global Strategy and Leadership

A concentration is comprised of five courses (15 credits) selected from a chosen area. When should one start looking for an apartment? My wife and I plan on moving to Montreal the last week in July.

I plan on moving to Montreal in the last few days of July as well. I'm scheduling a trip to the city in mid-May to look for apartments. I figure that that should give me time to find something that suits me and is also early enough to not miss out on some of the nicer properties. See you in the fall

Yes, I will be here until the end of June..

Although I will have a family visit in 2 weeks for a week, I would be more than welcome to give you advice regarding apartments, city, etc...

Hi Everyone! I got accepted into the McGill Fall 2011 full time program last week. I've also been accepted into the Schulich IMBA program. I haven't decided yet on which one to attend...so was hoping to get some input on the comparison between the two schools. I'm originally from India, but have been working in the US for the last five years (IT Consulting). I did my undergrad at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio before that.
