Hi Sprockets,

I know I've reached out to you elsewhere but I think diving into and completing TTP could be huge for you. If you have any questions regarding how to best utilize the course, feel free to reach out to me directly. I've got your back, my friend.

Hi Sprockets,

To start, a 670/Q44 is a solid Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, another retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

Both a Q44 and a Q42 mean that your general math knowledge is good - and you properly dealt with most of the 'math' questions that you saw on the GMAT each time you took it (and I wouldn't be surprised if you scored in the low-Q40s on your At-home GMAT). However, the Quant section of the GMAT is NOT a 'math test' - it's a 'critical thinking test' that requires lots of little calculations as you work through it. To score at a much higher level in this section, you need to become more of a 'strategist' and less of a 'mathematician' - otherwise you will likely continue to score in the low-Q40s.

As an aside, there are other ways to 'offset' a lower GPA besides a higher GMAT Score, but before we discuss any of those alternatives, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies?
2) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

I took GMAT last year and scored a 670 (Q44, V38). I couldnt apply last year due to work commitments so I didnt do much until I got to about two months ago. Started prepping again and was feeling pretty good. Mock test 1 and 2 got a 710 and 740.

I signed up for the exam and took it in the center. I felt extremely good about the verbal so I took that section first. As soon as I started quant, the second question turned out to be work rate problem that was worded a bit complex but was simple - I ended up taking a little too much time on it and sort of panicked. Things just kept getting worse there on. I barely finished quant in timing and had to guess a few and ended up rushing through last 5 questions.

I ended up with a score of Q42 and V 41 for a 680. I ended up cancelling the score. Since I was already in a loc with a decent internet connection before returning to my home (I am currently in a small town with sporadic internet) so I signed up for the online GMAT the very next day. I thought maybe my panicking got the best of me in quant.

I am not sure how the online exam went since I've not received my score yet but I planning on taking the in person again next month. I am really shooting for a Q49-51 here to offset my low GPA slightly.

Now I have taken the trial of TTP once and then won the 10 day trial using gmatclub. I never went through all the quizzes but going through every chapter, the material all seems familiar to me and nothing that I dont know.

Going forward should I just sign up for TTP and do the accelerated study plan and knock out all their quizzes or should I just used gmatclub and do the problems using their filters there from varied sources? I think my issue is applying concepts in the time frame etc.

Any feedback is appreciated.

With a Q42-44, I think your concepts are fine. Advanced application is certainly a bit of a challenge. For that, you will benefit from gmat club problems using the filters and our blog:

I discuss concept application in my posts.
