(A) Despite sophisticated computer models for assessing risk, such a model is nevertheless - Subject-verb agreement issue. The verb "is" does not match the possessive pronoun "their".

(B) Sophisticated computer models, which assess risk, are nevertheless - The modifier "which assess risk" is a non-vital modifier. However, the sentence requires a vital modifier because it talks explicitly about computer models used for assessing risk.

(C) Despite their sophistication, computer models for assessing risk are - CORRECT. The subject and verb are correct. Also, the modifier "for assessing" is correct. ✅

(D) Assessment of risk can be achieved with sophisticated computer models, but these models are - Verbose.

(E) Assessing risk with sophisticated computer models is limited because such models are - Change in meaning. The original sentence does not mention that risk assessment is limited but mentions that computer models used for assessing risk are.
