I didn't kept any error log for Verbal, however, I took all the gmat prep exams with AWA and IR included.

I completed not only offical guides both 12 and 13 but also gmat question pack 1 and in addtion gmat verbal review books.

Here are my preparation materials:

OG 12 and 13
verbal and Quant review
e-gmat for verbal
gmatquantum for Quant
mgmat SC,CR
powerscore CR bible.

Sometimes, I wonder if preparing for gmat would take years to complete then is it a good choice in choosing a career with MBA?

Hmmm,

First thing first, be happy for yourself that you have taken this decision to go for an MBA and change your life. Not many people do that, so no looking back there :)
Regarding the preparation, I would suggest you to take a break and then start a fresh. Go back to the preparatory courses you have and start them from the beginning.

Try to follow a study plan. (You can find many in my signature. Pick the one that suits you)

In this round of preparation, pay the most attention to the Official questions and make sure that you make an error log in which you note which question you got incorrect and why. Then go back to the incorrect question, research about it and write down any new thing that you learn from it.

After this, make sure you revise this log. This will make sure that you do not repeat the same mistakes again.

What were your scores in the mock CATs?

Hi krishnakoilada9,

From what you've described, your post implies that you've been working with ALL of the resources that you listed for 9 months. I went to check our records and it appears that you have BARELY touched the EMPOWERgmat Course (and you've been with us for less than a month). As such, it's rather early to be 'giving up' on it.

In that same way, if you've barely (or inconsistently) dealt with other areas of your studies, then that would go a long way to explain the 'swings' in your CAT scores and recent Official GMAT Score.

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?

The GMAT is a predictable, standardized Test, so you CAN train to score at a high level. However, you have to make sure that you approach the process in the proper ways.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Going by your mock CAT scores, I would agree that you should have hit a score more than 500.
But then, test day is a specific event and there are many factors that can affect your score.

Having said this, I see there is a big room for improvement in Verbal and these scores clearly how a lack of understanding of concepts.
Make sure when you start preparing again, you go through the concepts before jumping on to solving the problems and follow a study plan and keep an error log.
