My first attempt to GMAT went pretty bad and I scored a mere 500, which is quite devastating. After 4 months of preparation and giving several mocks, this was unexpected.
GMAT break up - V21, Q37 & IR6
The average of last 6 mocks which I gave in last 2 weeks before my first attempt was 640 (V29-31 & Q 47-49). 640 to 500 is a pretty steep movement, I am unable to understand how it went so bad! Was it exam anxiety?
In my ESR break up what I can observe that my SC went really bad and Maths overall was bad.
Overall Prep taken -
1) Verbal - eGMAT course and Manhattan SC book for basics and practicing mostly official questions
2) Quants - Being from engineering background, even before prep in initial mock my quants was strong, ~47. Gone through GMAT club math book for formulas and practicing official questions mostly. I have no clue how I have dropped down to 37 (is it anxiety?).
The major struggle I am facing, specifically in Verbal is time management. I am too slow at each question and not able to go through almost 1/3rd of the entire verbal in exam.
I need an expert guidance or a mentor to figure out- how to improve from this situation - specifically time management and improvement in SC accuracy and timing. I am not willing to go through another course, rather need a help or one on one sessions from and expert to improve.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
