Hi everybody,
I started my preparation couple of weeks back and am targetting a score somewhere around 700 after 3 to 4 months of preparation. I went through the quant formulae and verbal rules before writing a Kaplan practice test. I did not do any practice questions and wanted to write a diagnostic test to see where I stand. I got a score of 530(Q36, V22) and wanted to know your thoughts on this diagnostic test results. Are these really bad for the target score I have in mind.
I got abt. 40% correct in Sentence Correction, which is suppose to be the easiest part of the GMAT. I have always known that sentence correction was my weak link and am following Manhattan SC Review. Is there a better book to follow for SC? If Manhattan SC Review is a good book, is there a specific way that I should follow for this book? or should I pay $1000 and attend a GMAT coaching session? Is it worth the money? Do I need it, considering I am confident of a big improvement in quant(by doing self-study)?
For RC, I take about 5 mins just to read the passage before answering the first question? I feel I am trying to grasp a lot of details from the passage? Am I doing it wrong?
I felt I was really pressed for time in both quant and verbal. Is there a specific way to tackle this?
Any thoughts/tips shall be highly appreciated.
regards,
Sachin
