I'm in a similar situation - is it useful to use Math Revolution to get from a Q39 to a Q48/49? Or is it more focused on those already in the Q48 range getting even higher?

Hi RefError,

Thank you for your interest and query.
You can surely hit at least Q49 with us as long as you study properly accordingly to study guide of the course.
In fact, our course is designed specially for non-engineers and would be most beneficial for you.

In order to hit your target score of 48/49, you need to remember the two characteristics of GMAT math:
Firstly, GMAT is a logic test, not a general math test. That is, you need to learn the logic to tackle GMAT questions.
You can still solve GMAT questions with the conventional method.
If you aim to hit a high score in quant, the conventional method is time-consuming and inefficient. You may hit Q45 or above with the conventional way, but it is extremely difficult to hit Q49-51. Hence, we strongly recommend learning the logic, which you can learn from our online course.

The other important factor is to practice the most current GMAT questions. A number of questions you get to practice online tend to be out-of-date and they might not be that relevant to the current types of GMAT questions. If you are not used to the current types of questions, this could also be a reason to why your score is not improving. However, all the questions you get to practice from our online course are developed based on the current type of GMAT questions.

Based on your current score, your issue would be PS and your basic math skills are probably shaky. You most likely make unnecessary mistakes in basic-to-middle level questions and you cannot move up to advanced level questions in CAT's.

Many students at this level of scoring seem to solve the questions with their eyes, meaning they easily understand what is taught but they don't actually understand the entire process of calculation when writing it out. If they encounter such questions, they tend not to solve them.

If this sounds like you, please always remember the principle of "Slow, Hand, Detail".

☞ Solve "slowly" when you study and practice.

☞ Solve the problems by "hand" as a rule. Understanding how the problems are solved in videos is very different from actually solving them yourself. So, practice by solving the problems by hand-writing them is very important after you have studied with the videos.

☞ When you solve them, write a "detailed" calculation process without skipping any steps. This is also important.
If you do not follow the above advice, but think you know it well, you cannot solve the problems properly.
If you are not strong in basic math skills, your PS won’t be good. If your PS isn't good, you will have a difficult time in establishing equations in DS. So, your DS will not be good either.

How to score between Q49-51

☞ Enroll in “All-In-One 51” for 3 months.

☞ Flow the "Slow, Hand, Detail" mentioned above. This is a very important principle and habit that you have to keep in mind at all times.

☞ Build your math basics with our "Math Review" (5-hour lesson). These videos are for reviewing basic math including arithmetic, algebra, geometry and word problems. As long as you cover these videos, we are sure that you can strengthen math basics.
In addition, we have free video lessons for math basics. Please refer to “Must-Know Formula” and “Must-Know Math Basics”. Click
These videos can help but they are not comprehensive enough to fully strengthen your basic math skills. “Math Review” videos in our paid course will provide you with more confidence in mastering math basics.

☞ Once confident with your basic math skills, you can move on to our unique approaches to solving any kind of GMAT math questions. DS is quite easy and it is a quick win. DS is our biggest strength. If you learn the Variable Approach for DS which saves time significantly, is very unique, and very different from conventional ways of solving equations, you can easily achieve a score of 49 and above. Just trust and learn the Variable Approach. Basic math skills are necessary, but more importantly, a command of logical skills is required.

We also have a 7-day money back guarantee, risk-free purchase. You can cancel anytime within 7 days.
