What is the probability, after rolling a pair of dice, that the numbers add up to 7? How much more likely is rolling 7 than rolling 4?

a. 1/6 ; equal
b. 1/5; twice
c. 1/6; twice
d. 1/3; equal
d. 1/3; twice

If you roll a pair of dice, there are a total of 36 outcomes.
Both numbers can add to 7 if you get the following combination: {1,6} , {2,5} , {3,4} , {4,3} , {5,2} , {6,1} = 6 outcomes.
So probability = 6/36 = 1/6

Both numbers can add to 4 if you get the following combination: {1,3} , {2,2} , {3,1} = 3 outcomes.

So chances of getting 7 are twice than of getting 4.

Answer is (C)
