Yeah, so I got admitted after hiring Ivy MBA Consulting. I would like to highly recommend their team.
I think my consultants made a great work and I told them that even before I received the good news.
In my view, Ivy MBA Consulting succeeded to help me explain my goals, highlight my strengths and produce the maximum from my resume and story.
They directed me about key points, suggested creative approaches and insisted about every small detail in my application.
Moreover, during all the process, I felt that my success is their success too, as they went above and beyond for me. They were very dedicated and professional, and didn't cut corners. It was clear from the first moment that they are very experienced in this business, while always being fair to me.
For all of you who contemplate, I recommend Ivy MBA Consulting!

Just want to point out, that both of the above posts for "Ivy mba consulting" only have 1 post each from each poster. They obviously signed up just to post here, whereas my firm MBA IVY LEAGUE has been a regular contributor for years.

Hello folks

I am Egyptian female applicant, and recently convinced that I have to get a professional help for my b-school applications, specially that I have some points that should be professionally articulated such as my kind of low GPA (2.94) and my age that is at the high end of the range for most of the b-Schools (34 years old/12 years of working experience).

It is going to be kind of big investment, that's why I have to make the right choice among several good admission consultants and packages! can you please help me with your advice and personal stories with different Admission Consulting Services, how do you rate this experience? did you get admitted finally after their help?

Waiting for your stories

There is a variety of Admissions consultants. They, however, do not guarantee anything, and rather amplify your work, hone it, focus and corral your effort. They help you be the better you but they don't just do things for you. Your best is probably to visit this discussion to set your expectations right:

What is convincing you that you need help for your business school applications? Even if you decide you need professional help, you might be ale to minimize the financial investment to the areas you are worried about (ex: school selection, only essays, etc.)

Hey ShaymaaGaafar

Thanks for posting this question and giving us the chance to respond. My first suggestion for you is to collect information -- sort of like you are doing now BUT more focused on you. The main admissions consulting firms (like mbaMission) all offer free consultations. The consultant will go through your CV and your background and your stats and give you a sense of your overall candidacy. Do a few of these with a few firms and ask them the question you have posted here. How will they help you? I also recommend you ask each firm about their history, training procedures, and whether their consultants are full-time or not. What I recommend you look for is both a reputable firm AND a consultant you "click" with. This is an intense process and you want to make sure that you enjoy working with the person you've hired! And the best way to do that is to talk to them before you make a purchase.

I hope that makes sense. If you have already taken the GMAT, I recommend signing up for a free consultation now. If you haven't taken the GMAT, you may want to do so before talking with consultants as that will give you a more accurate picture of your candidacy. Alternatively, take a full-length practice exam and use that score as the base of the conversation. (In my experience, people tend to score a little lower on the actual exam than on the practice exam, just fyi.)

If I were you, I would focus on admission consultants with specific experience and a good track record with 1. Older applicants 2. Applicants with a low GPA 3. Applicants from Egypt 4. Applicants to the schools you are most interested in.
Or as many as possible of the above.

Not all admissions consultants are good at everything, so it is important to find the ones that are good at what matters to you.

The company I work for, for example, specializes in applicants with a low GMAT score, rather than a low GPA, but we do work A LOT with Middle Eastern applicants and older applicants.

Since I don’t know what schools you are interested in, I can’t really say how experienced we are with those schools and what our success rate is for them, but you can get a partial idea here: https://aringo.com/aringo-mba-admission-statistics/ by looking at our admissions statistics, broken down by school.

I would suggest you get similar statistics and information from other admissions consulting companies that you are interested in working with, in order to decide what company or consultant seems to be doing best with regards to the aspects that are most challenging/most important to you.

How do they help you with the application? I'm curious..

Hi Kirastan,

I will share how we have been helping our applicants over the past 8-9 years:

1. Craft the application strategy.
This is done following a structured process. The application fills a comprehensive template that helps bring out their strengths, accomplishments and varied experiences. This is followed by 1-2 brainstorming sessions to flush out the details which might be hidden and select the best stories which would make an application shine. The application strategy is then created to place these stories at the right place in the application to maximize the impact. As an instance, the resume might be the right place for a story but an essay for the other and a reco for yet another. Its critical to take a holistic view of the entire application - from admission committee's point of view - and ensure that the pieces tie-in together.

2. Content creation
The applicant drafts their essays as the next step and improves it over multiple iterations with our feedback, till we are satisfied with the content quality.

3. Content editing & finalization
In this last step the applicant edits their essays, with our support, to improve the language and bring it within word limit. And boom, it gets submitted.

Whilst admission consulting services cannot guarantee you an acceptance, they most certainly will increase your chances. According to statistics, a candidate’s chance of being accepted can double or even triple with using a firm like ARINGO (you can see our MBA successful admission statistics here https://aringo.com/aringo-mba-admission-statistics/).
Our consultants are highly qualified in helping those whose GPA or GMAT scores are not high enough. As this is often the highest concern of their clients.
Due to your unique situation of your age and prior work experience, hiring a consultant can offer an additional benefit. We at ARINGO, assess our client’s individual situation and offer advice personal to them. Based off of their extensive history in the industry, they can offer programs that they believe will be suitable for the specific client. I suggest you do some more research on our website: www.ARINGO.com and be in touch whenever ready for a free chances estimation: https://aringo.com/mba-process-registration/

Of course, I heard about such a profession, but I have not met with her representative yet.
