Markus,

The books you have are still relevant to the current form of GMAT. I would recommend you to supplement it with the computer based resources provided by GMAC at mba.com: GMATPrep free CATs, GMATPrep Question Pack 1, Exam Pack 1, etc.

Hello Dabral,

Thank you for your reply!

I will surely get the resources from GMAC when I'm done with learning the basic theory. Or is there any reason for me to do so sooner?

Thanks again,
Markus

Hi Markus,

These Forums are a great place to seek advice, work on practice problems, see how other Users/Experts would handle questions that are giving you trouble, etc. I do want to warn you that you might come across questions in these Forums that show up on practice CATs and Club Tests. Knowing the questions (and their correct answers) before taking those practice CATs/Tests could impact your practice scores (and make them higher than they naturally would be). To maintain the accuracy of those 'experiences', you just need to be careful about randomly clicking around the site.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Markus,

Use the Official Guides, the main one and the Quant supplement along with whatever source you are using to learn concepts and strategies. Once you are done with this initial stage, then start to do practice sets and CATs from the official sources, and this can be accomplished in several ways. Also, don't do problems from gmatclub, many are part of the GMATPrep software and will bias your score. I would say only engage in gmatclub problems once you get closer to the exam. Of course, there are many problems and discussions here that are not relevant to the GMAT, and it will be nearly impossible for most GMAT test takers to be able to tell if they are relevant to the GMAT or not.

Thanks to the both of you for the warning! Sadly I have already done quite a few issues on GMATclub, but I will make sure to no longer use it before I'm done with the first phase and some CAT's.

Thanks!
