Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any insights into how the intakes might differ, beyond the obvious internship opportunity for those of the January Intake. Since the January Intake provides that time off, does it make a significant difference in the student body that it attracts? The internship seems to be particularly valuable for those wanting to switch careers, so I'm wondering if there are more folks starting in January who are looking to go in to finance or something completely new. Since applications would be due somewhat off cycle from other schools, it seems like the January Intake would have a larger portion of applicants who are possibly not considering other schools.
Separately it seems like there might be more consultants from the big 3 in the September Intake than in January (https://hosting.mckinsey.com/careers/ins ... mates.aspx) This seemed interesting to me, but I'm not sure what to make of that.
Anyone have any thoughts or firsthand experience with the intakes?

I think most big 3 consultants opt for the Sept intake because they're sponsored by their firm and will be returning there after graduation -- they don't need or want an internship. Apparently they're also the ones who consistently make the Dean's List because, again, they can afford to focus on academics (as opposed to job hunting).

Thanks for the thoughts, definitely a valid hypothesis. I feel like there must be a difference in feel of the classes since the September intake must have people that turned down top US schools. Not to say that January applicants wouldn't have been admitted to those same schools had they applied.
