To all, I have a dilemma with which I need the help of the Gmat Club Community. I am going to be applying in R2, which is just around the corner, to the M7s; however, due to a couple of ventures and some commitments I do not believe, if I do get accepted, that I will be able to attend in the Fall of 2015. Hence I wanted to get your thoughts on whether I should apply now in R2 and deffer to 2016 or simply apply in R1 of next year.
This option matters only and only if I do get in; now the question becomes, which one is tougher, applying in R2 or reapplying?
Another thing to consider is my age, 33. I have, what I believe, is a very good profile, founding employee at a startup that was acquired by a Fortune 500 firm for 10x multiple, founder of a failed healthcare startup, advisor to international industrial startups, active member in community groups, and program director of community based volunteer run online radio.
Please let me know your thoughts and feel free to ask follow up questions.

Thanks for sharing your question. I would say you generally want to apply in the year you know you will be attending school. Deferrals are not guaranteed some schools will simply say no so I always applying to schools that you would be comfortable going to that year. Now, the challenge with re-applying is that you really need to showcase something new and different about your profile, and for some students and particularly at your age the promotions may not be coming as fast and furious. So keep all of this in mind as you make your decision.
